Steffie POV
I woke up before Naya did, I let her sleep in since she didn't have any shooting to do today. As I put on some clothes I cleaned up the mess Sam left yesterday and started on some Belgian waffles. The real deal, like mama used to teach me. Normally I never eat waffles for breakfast, but the American lifestyle has totally changed my rhythm and for the best I think to be honest.

An hour later the waffles were ready and I heard a loud yawn coming from my bedroom. Guess Naya is awake. I put the waffles on the counter together with some whipped cream, sugar and some self-made chocolate sauce. "Smells good in here, what did you make?" Naya asks, startling me a bit. "Nay! I made you some waffles, you know the real deal" I told her with a smirk. "Don't like the American ones eh?" she asked, grabbing one, taking a small bite. "God, these are better, but I do want some chocolate sauce and whipped cream" she said, licking her lips. Giggling, I gave her what she wanted and took a waffle for myself, slowly nibbling on it.

"What do you want to do today?" I asked Naya, "If you want to hang out with me of course, I mean you're a celebrity and I'm just..." she interrupted me, "Ho there, I do want to hang out with you and didn't I tell you yesterday how much I enjoyed it?" I smiled up at her, taking her plate away. "So what do you want to do?" I asked again, putting the plates in the dishwasher. "What's it you've done here in New York?" she asked, sitting down in the couch, watching my every move. "Not too much actually, I just started looking for work right away, I haven't done anything touristic, if that's what you were going for?" I replied, joining her in the couch, "But we do need to talk about yesterday's events though" I added, making her smile disappear. "I know, can we talk about it another time? I really want to explore New York City with you" she told me getting excited. "But won't they recognise you and chase us? I mean paparazzi is everywhere nowadays. It's not like I don't want to, because believe me I do, but..." I replied, getting a bit nervous, thinking about the paparazzi hunting us down. "I'll wear a disguise and maybe send them an anonymous tip about going to LA or something. So they might crowd the airport and we can go somewhere else" she said simply, taking out her phone.

"Mhm, okay, well I think I want to go Ellis Island, if that's ok with you" I told her, thinking about the statue of Liberty. "Do you like the statue or is it just the cruise over the Hudson River?" she asked, smirking a little. "I have no idea why you're smirking, but I like both. The reason I wanted to go though was because of the history, you know about all the immigrants" I explained to her, turning more towards her. We discussed more about what we were going to do and eventually made a decision on how we were going to spend our day.

"Well if you're interested in history then I know where we can go to. I'm not sure how old you were when it happened, but I think you'll want to see the ground zero museum, since it had quite the impact on the American history" Naya told me when we took her car to Battery Park, where we would take the ferry. "Well I was seven at the time, I didn't know much about America back then, but I did realise something bad had happened over here. Especially when a friend of mine, her father, lived in New York, close to where the towers stood" I told her, remembering my friend telling me how she called her father and anxiously waited for a reply.

We got out of the car and bought our tickets for the ferry which would bring us to Ellis Island. "I hope you brought your jacket, it's going to be windy on the boat" Naya warned me, smiling a little, while pulling her scarf tighter around her neck. "Yup, I'm mostly not afraid of the cold weather, but since I'm in New York, I'm wearing sweaters every day" I joked, getting in line to get on the ferry. "Oh did you message the you know who's? Or did you tweet something?" I whispered referring to the paparazzi. "Oh right, I totally forgot. I'll say that I'm leaving for LA for a few days, that way we can chill and hopefully they'll fall for it" she replied in a hushed tone. Naya took out her phone and quickly tweeted "Leaving for LA, New York is nice, but the LA weather is sooo much better <3".

"That'll hold them off for a while, at least that's what I hope" Naya told me putting her phone back in her purse. I didn't answer, but just followed her on board of the ferry. Before the ferry left the quay we sat on our stools, waiting to depart to Ellis Island. "Do you want to sit inside or outside? It's windy but also pretty warm" I asked Naya, looking at the rails where less people were standing. "Well since you asked, I'd like to be a little more outside, that way we won't get disturbed so much by other passengers" she replied, getting up and looking for a spot to stand at the rails. "Why did you want to go to Ellis Island exactly?" she asked, looking at me while leaning on the rails. "Well you know how people came to the USA by boat because they wanted a better life and thought to find it here in the US. Life was hard in Europe, with all the wars, you know, World War 1 and 2 for example" I told her, leaning on the rails myself, staring over the water.

"WE HAVE ARRIVED AT ELLIS ISLAND" was said through the speakers, Naya and I were the first two who got off the boat, getting ready for the tour on the Island. "Alright ladies and gentlemen, we'll start shortly with the tour of Ellis Island, please ask questions if something is unclear" our tour guide said, getting off the boat after us. As we waited for everyone to get off the boat, Naya and I looked around, spotting the Statue of Liberty. "Take a picture with me and the Statue" Naya asked, handing me her phone, while she posed, making me grin. "There we go" I told her, taking a few other pictures. "Okay now- , LADIES!" the tour guide called, "Please don't make me raise my voice again, we're starting the tour". Naya and I quickly joined the group, trying to keep down our giggles.

"Between 1892 and 1924 there arrived about 12 million immigrants, ready to start a new life in America. But before they could enter the main land, they had to pass through the building behind me" the tour guide told us, pointing behind him. "Most of them didn't even speak the language, so when an officer from the island asked them to put away their belongings, they didn't know what to do at first" he continued. We walked over a covered area right into the buildings. "These stairs were already a sort of unknown test for the immigrants, they didn't know doctors would be waiting upstairs to check if they were healthy or if they carried any diseases". As we walked up the stairs we came into a huge room. "This room is called the registry room or also known as the great hall, where immigrants were inspected and questioned to see if they were fit enough to enter the country or if they needed further examination. If they needed further examination the doctor would mark them with chalk" he explained, making a small mark on his jacket. "After the examination, they were asked more questions, such as 'who paid your pass' 'how much money do you have' and so on. When they finally went through all that, they had to climb other stairs, also known as the Stairs of Separation" he continued moving up the stairs. "As you all can see there are 3 ways to continue now, to the left you can go either South or West, so you were clear if you went through there. If you were clear and wanted to go to New York City you had to go to the right. But the other way, was the one that was most dreaded, it meant you had to stay longer on the Island" the guide told us, showing us the way through the doors. "Here were the dormitories or hospital beds, were the immigrants needed to stay. It could be a couple of extra days, in some cases even weeks" he explained showing us the bunks where they used to sleep. "Alright, the tour here is over, but there are more things to see, I'll let you guys off here and expect to see you in an hour at the boat. Thank you for your attention" he added, letting us off to see more of the Island.

AN; First of all, I'm really sorry for the long wait, but I had to do some research since as you know I'm not from America. And second I had my exams. Anyway I'm glad people read this, it really means a lot to me. Thank you very much.
