MacKenzie POV

I called my mom again, letting her know we were on our way back. Once we arrived home, I didn't really want to go to bed. First of all I was way too hyper because I had just met my idol, who had hugged me a few times, took a picture with me and the concert was amazing, I just had to keep talking about it. But also, tomorrow Steffie would leave for New York, and I don't know how I'd feel about that. We've only spend a few months together, but I got used to having her around and I'm really going to miss having a big sister around. Guess it'll be just me and Bubbles again.

"Hey munchkin!" Steffie said, putting her poster in a carton tube, so it wouldn't fold or rip. "How are you feeling?" she asked, trying to put it in her suitcase. "I'm a bit of both I think, I mean I'm still pumped about the concert, which was amazing, but I'm also sad you're leaving tomorrow" I admitted. "I'm really sorry, Kenzie, but I'll leave around 2pm, so we can do something before I leave" she said, compromising. I nodded, smiling lightly. "Alright, well I'm going to the bathroom, to put on my pyjamas and then I'll hop in my bed" I said, doing just so. As I returned, Steffie was searching for something in her suitcase, but apparently couldn't find it. "Do you have makeup remover?" she asked me. "Eh, yes in the bathroom, but why? You're not wearing any, are you?" I asked, looking at her, seeing she wasn't wearing makeup. "Can I use it?" she asked, avoiding my question. I told her she could and where she could find it.

"What did you use it for?" I asked again when she came back. "To remove my makeup of course" she replied, getting in her bed. Frowning I got out of mine, getting on hers, looking directly at her. "You didn't wear any". She looked down, avoiding eye contact. "I... I did" she said. I looked weirdly at her, but when she glanced at her arms, it was like a light bulb went on in my head. "Oh, you mean...?" I asked, not able to finish my question. "But why? I mean you had seen her before no?" I asked again. "I did, but then I didn't expect to meet her and back then I didn't really think about it. But this morning I felt uncomfortable with them showing and I didn't want to wear a sweater because that would have been suspicious" she told me, still looking down. "Well, if she had seen them, it would have been scars right? Meaning that there are no fresh cuts and that you are healing. That's why I wanted you to have that poster, to know you can do this. I know it's hard, but I also know you have it in you to win this battle" I told her honestly. She smiled and gave me a hug. "Thanks munchkin, you can do it too, I believe in you" she whispered, before letting go. As I went back into my bed, I turned off the lights. "Sweet dreams" I said, lying down, cuddled up with my blanket.

The next day I woke up, seeing Steffie was still asleep, granted that it was only 7am I understood that. She had a long day ahead so I got up and prepared her breakfast, when I had put it up it was 7:30, so I returned to our room and got in bed with her, hugging her from behind, just like the first time she slept here. She moved a little, but I think she noticed it was me, because she smiled a little. "Are you awake?" I whispered, on which she nodded. "Well babe, I made you breakfast, so if you want you can eat" I told her, making her giggle. "Babe hmm? That's something I'll definitely miss, but thanks for breakfast munchkin" she said smiling widely. She turned towards me hugging me. "And I'll definitely miss waking up with you. I love your hugs" she mumbled, only just loud enough for me to hear. "I'm good at cuddling yes, it's one of my talents" I told her. "But if I were you I would go to the kitchen and eat your breakfast" I added, trying to get up. "Five more minutes, please" she said, looking up at me. "Okay, okay, but put those puppy dog eyes away" I replied, making her giggle.

Ten minutes later we got into the kitchen and started eating, Bubbles joined us, earning some treats from we when she did what I asked her. When Steffie finished her breakfast, she looked at Bubbles, suddenly hugging her. "I'm going to miss you, Bubs" she said, tickling her behind her ears. My parents entered an hour later, making breakfast for themselves, while Steffie, Bubbles and me we sitting at the TV. "Any plans today, before you leave to the big city?" my mom asked Steffie, not looking up from her newspaper. "I was planning on going to Angie with her mom" I said, before Steffie could say anything. "Why would you go there?" my mom asked, looking at me. "I just wanted Steffie to meet her, before she left" I replied, looking at Steffie who knew what was going on.

Minutes later, we got dressed and got in the car, to drive to Angie. I wanted Steffie to get to know her, so she knew who I might go to in times of trouble. When we arrived, Angie was already waiting on us, waving at me. "Hey Kenzie, how are you?" she asked, smiling at me. "I'm doing alright, I just wanted you to meet my friend Steffie, she stayed over for a few months, but she's leaving for New York today" I told her, presenting Steffie at the same time. They waved at each other before Angie turned and went in her house. "Tom isn't home yet, he should get here in a bit though" Angie informed me. Steffie looked at me, expecting something. "Oh right, Tom is her son, I told you about him" I said, as I followed Angie. "Right, well are you going to tell her about Darren? Someone has to know, and I'm pretty sure you don't want to tell your parents" she asked me in a hushed voice. "Eh I guess, but it's not like she can do anything about it" I replied, not really having thought about it anymore. "She can go to the police Kenzie, I'm sure she can handle this" Steffie told me, "But if you don't want to well, that's your choice. I just don't want you to end up in jail because of that stupid boy" she added, sitting down in one of Angie's chairs.

An hour later we returned home and Steffie said goodbye to my mom and dad. "Thank you so much for letting me stay here, I know it must have been weird, but it was an awesome way to get to know a bit of America" she told them, shaking both my parent's hands. "It was a pleasure having you here, I hope we will hear from you" my dad told her, making her smile. "I'll do my best sir". Finally she came over to me, engulfing me in a hug. "Thank you for everything" she whispered, "Please think about what we said at Angie's" "I'll miss you lazy pants" I chuckled, hugging her back. "I'll miss you too Kenz, but it'll be for the best and I really need to get out of the house and start to get independent. I need to move forward, because I can't linger any longer. I'm turning 21 this year, I really have to do something with my life, but I hope this isn't goodbye, just a farewell" she said, getting emotional. "You won't get rid of me that easy you know" I told her, hugging her tighter, "But I'll really miss you, I just started to get used to an older sister". "You're cooler than any imaginary younger sister I ever had" she joked, letting go of me. "Well I'll take that as a compliment" I chuckled. "You better" she smiled, adding "Well, I'm going now, don't forget you have amazing people around you, farewell Kenzie, email me, call me, anything" she said before getting into her car and driving off.

"Bye, I love you" I mumbled, waving until I couldn't see her car anymore, I'm definitely going to miss her.
