Chapter 2

I was walking in the corridors of the university when a message popped up; Mum "Get your ass home, we've got to tell you something important"

I was a little surprised by this. Mum can use her cellphone? Since when? I didn't bother to reply, thinking she probably didn't know how to open the message. So I decided to take the bus home to hear the 'important' news.

An hour later I finally came home, cursing under my breath, because the bus driver missed my stop and it was pouring outside, leaving me soaking wet.

"Finally you're here, got stuck on the bus?!" mum shouted. Again I didn't reply, I knew this would only gave her another reason to yell at me. So I took my shoes off, put my bag away and changed in some sweatpants and a crop top. Running downstairs trying not to give them an other reason to shout at me.

Unfortunately, since my brother moved out, I get these yelling every day, every minute my mum and dad see me. This time though, dinner was already prepared and they were waiting with big smiles on their face. Okay, creeps..

You see they barely smile at me, and if they do, well it's to mock me.

"Take a seat Steffie," my dad said, "and open the envelope." Okay this is totally not normal. One they're smiling, two they're friendly and three they're giving me an envelope. They never give me anything unless it's my birthday and that was four weeks ago. And I don't get any mail from anyone so what's in the envelope?I sit down and reach for the envelope, looking a bit suspicious. "From who is it?" I ask. "Just open it, you'll see" mum answers. I open the envelope and see a paper;

"Congratulations Steffie, you won the first prize, an amount of € 25 million.."
