Steffie POV
I couldn't really sleep, I was tossing and turning, right when I thought about getting up, the door opened and her mum came in, checking on MacKenzie. I pretended to sleep and waited until she was gone again. I sat up, searched for my notebook and a pen and started to write down some lyrics. I usually do this to keep my mind off of things or to clear my mind of unwanted thoughts. As for now, I really need to calm down, I don't want to get tempted to go into my bad habits again. I want to stay strong and not relapse again, I really want to get better. Acknowledging you have a problem is the first step, but between admitting you have a problem and really wanting to get better, there's a whole process. Anyway, I know I don't want to end up in the bathroom tonight, so I concentrate on my notebook. I realise I've written down the lyrics to Nightingale again, I really need to place those feelings. I close my notebook, put it under my pillow and close my eyes, trying to sleep.I woke up while Kenzie was changing, so I turned in bed and closed my eyes again, giving her some privacy. "I saw you are awake, it's ok, I'm decent" she said, making me smile slyly. "Didn't want you to think I was some sort of pervert or so, I just wanted to give you some privacy" I told her, throwing a glance at the alarm clock. "Dang it! 6:30AM?! I could've slept some more.." I moaned, closing my eyes again. "Get up lazy pants, if you want to bring me to school then you have to get out of bed" she laughed, throwing a shoe at me. "Hey that's not nice!" "Never said I was babe" she grinned, winking, while walking out of the bedroom. I smiled, getting ready, guess her mum agreed on me taking her to school. In a way I'm happy, now I can spend some more time with her, and while she's in school I can work on my paper. Yep best deal I can get I guess.
20 minutes later I was ready to go, since I skipped breakfast out of routine. My excuse was time, she really had to go so, no time for my breakfast, easy no? Anyway, I start my car and wait for MacKenzie to hop in. She just looks at me, then my car, then back at me. "What are you waiting for? School is about to start Kenz" I told her, motioning her to come in. "You never told me what car you had" she said, finally getting in. "It never came up and to be honest it's just a BMW, I mean in Belgium everyone drives with one" I explained her. "Em, maybe you should help me a bit hmm. I'm new here, remember?" I grinned at her, making her chuckle. "Yeah well, first of you turn on the ignition and then you-" "Okay, okay, not about the car, I meant the directions to your school" I cut her off, looking at her, laughing away. "Yeah yeah, funny you, at least I have my license already" I joked, starting the car up, waiting for her directions. "But you're supposed to have it already, you're sooo ooold" I looked at her, squeezing my eyes "Playing that game again are we? I don't get how you're so funny this early in the morning, when I went to school I was tired until 1PM and then I just got tired of classes.." I told her, looking back at the road. "Anyway, just tell me left, right or whatever you need to tell me" I asked, already searching for a topic in the back of my head. Seemed like MacKenzie had other plans, she just plugged in her phone and put on some music, lucky for me it was Demi, so I didn't mind at all. At first she told me "left or right" but later she just pointed in the direction I needed to go, since clumsy me, doesn't really know the difference between left and right. Don't ask me how I passed my driver's exam, I was lucky I guess.
Suddenly she paused the music and turned to me. "So em, she's coming to Springfield, and I thought maybe you wanted to come with me. Since my parents don't want to and well I'm not an adult yet so I can't go alone.." she asked, biting her cheek. I parked the car, when I saw we were at her school and turned the engine off, looking at her. "You know you don't have to ask me twice, when is she coming?" "Well, she hasn't set up any dates yet, but it won't be that long I guess." she told me, releasing her cheek. "As soon as you know the date, I'll buy us some tickets-" I asked her, trying to hide a smile. "Wait, wait, you want to buy me my ticket as well? I mean that's awesome, but no, I don't want you to" she interrupted me. "Ok, you know what? You buy your ticket and I'll buy mine." I negotiated with her, quickly adding "And the meet and greets of course" while she accepted my offer. "What? Meet and greet as well, but that's too much" "Hey, I just won a lot of money and I want to see Demi again, but this time I will have to pay for it and I don't want to go alone. Please Kenzie, let me buy them for us?" I begged. "Ugh, fine, but only because I wanna see that hot ass in person and up close" she smirked, making me laugh. "Ok, we have a deal," I glanced at the car clock and saw it was almost time for her to go to class, "I'll see you later. Want me to pick you up as well?" I asked her, grabbing her bag from the back seat. "If you're not busy, sure, I'll call you" she replied, getting out of the car, giving me a quick smile before heading into the building.
