Zayd's POV
After discharging Yuna from the hospital, I take her home. That black book is attracting me, and I never know why. 'Remember, Zayd, you're not someone who is chismoso.' But it feels like she's hiding something in that book that makes her feel uneasy after I told her I found it beside her.
“Ayos na ako dito.” I was taken aback by what she said. “Sigurado pagod ka na. Kaya ko na sarili ko.”
Why is she so brave in front of me right now but so weak when I'm not around around? An invisible high walls seems separating us.
“Nah, I already took rest while you were asleep, and you just got discharged from the hospital. You need someone to look at you will your taking some rest.”
Why am I so concerned about her? She's my victim, my playmate. Actually, she means nothing to me.
“Don't be fooled by someone's facade. They hide secrets that are right in front of you, but you never find them.” A certain voice echoed in my mind. “Remember, your fate is now in the hands of that someone. Seek it, and you'll find it.”
“Ayos ka lang?” I looked at her with confusion. “Bigla ka na lang jan na tulala.”
Did I just space out? “I'm fine.”
“Sigurado?” I just nodded at her.
I stayed at her house until midnight. I saw her peacefully sleeping in her bed as I walked to her room. The door was open for me to rush in if she had difficulty breathing again.
As I reached the room, the book kept attracting me, like there's something making me feel I need to open it.
“Open it.” A voice echoed in my mind. “If I were you, I'd open it. I'll give you clues.”
D*mn. Where the hell is that voice coming from? And d*mn it, my body is moving on its own. Now, I'm holding the book. As I turn the page, my name is written in it. I can say it's Yuna's handwriting.
The more I turn the pages, the more questions form in my mind. Other pages are written by Yuna. How I got my severe flu, my embarrassing photo that leaked out, the picture that leaked out about me and Yuna, and other things that happened to me – it was all written by her.
I remember the note written in Spanish. “Your own destiny is no longer in your hands. Be cautious, as sometimes the weak have the ability to overthrow those who act as kings.”
“No, it can't be you.” I said, looking at her peacefully sleeping like an angel. “No, it's not you, right? The person that note is talking about.”
