Chapter 23

MIKAELSON COMPOUND / LUCIEN'S PENTHOUSE / MOROCCAN SHOP
[At the Mikaelson compound, Klaus stands perfectly still with his back to Aurora as he listens on his phone to what Hayley have to say about Elijah. He slowly pulls the phone away from his ear and hangs up just as Aurora awakens. She sits up with a smile in Klaus' bed.]
Aurora: What are you doing over there? Come closer.
Klaus: [coldly] I think it's best you remain out of arm's reach. [Aurora sighs in annoyance when she realizes he's figured out what is going on.]
Aurora: So I take it you've heard about the busy day everyone's had. Let me take away that scowl. [Klaus turns toward her with an unamused expression.]
"Is she that stupid or just delusional?" Said Freya.
"Probably both." Said Bella.
Aurora: I'll tell you everything I know. 
Klaus: [growls] I suggest you speak quickly.
Aurora: There is a weapon in play-- a dangerous, cursed device called the Serratura. [Aurora continues informing Klaus of what she knows in voiceover while the scene cuts to Lucien's penthouse, where Lucien sits on his couch as he stares at the medallion. A pleased grin spreads across his face as he sips his bourbon.]
Aurora: [voiceover] It is capable of producing an unbreakable boundary. My brother and Lucien want to use it to lock you and your siblings away forever so that no one may harm you. [At the Mikaelson compound, Aurora continues her explanation.]
Aurora: But to do so, they need all three of you in one place.
Klaus: Which is why they sent a legion of Strix to collect my brother.
Aurora: Not to worry, my love. I took measures to ensure that Elijah isn't held by those nasty Strix for long.
Klaus: [confused] What measures? [Aurora continues speaking in voiceover as the scene cuts to outside the Moroccan shop, where Aya's associates are loading the coffin with Elijah's magically-staked body into the back of a truck.]
Aurora: [voiceover] While they did acquire Elijah's body, I wasn't about to let them keep it! So I enacted a plan of my own. Unbeknownst to my brother, two of the men sent to retrieve him were loyal to me. [Two of the men who are on Aurora's side sneak up behind two of the Strix members and snaps their necks so they can take Elijah's body.]
Everyone glares at them.
[Back at the Mikaelson compound, Klaus is staring at Aurora with wide eyes, clearly dumbfounded by the overwhelming information he just learned. Aurora smiles at him seductively, indicating she intends to use the fact that she has Elijah to her advantage.]
Aurora: And on my behalf, they procured your brother's body. So don't worry, my love-- Elijah is perfectly safe. You have my word.
"Didn't she say she hates Elijah few hours ago? Why would he trust her?" Said Hayley.
"Because Elijah is Tristan's sire and she wants her brother alive." Said Layla.
[Aurora's demeanor becomes even more seductive as she beckons him toward her.]
Aurora: Now... Come back to bed. [Klaus stares at her in horror.]
ST. LOUIS CATHEDRAL / MIKAELSON COMPOUND
[Bella, Marcel, and Hayley have come to the attic of St. Louis Cathedral to meet with Freya, who has lit dozens of white candles in preparation for more spellwork as the four discuss what they have learned in the last day or so.]
Hayley: [confused] So, where is Klaus?
[Freya, who is leaning against the table and looking exhausted, sighs.]
Freya: When I told him about Elijah, he said he'd pursue another lead.
Bella rolls her eyes.
[Bella takes Freya's athame and uses it to slice open his palm so he can bleed into a bronze bowl on the table, which lays on top of a large, pristine paper map that covers the entire table top.]
Bella: Forget Nik. Right now Elijah's priority.
Elijah looks surprised and touched.
[Bella takes out her handkerchief from bag, which she uses to clean up her hands after she finishes bleeding into the bowl. She then hands the bowl to Freya.]
Bella: We will find him. [Hayley looks at Freya nervously.]
Hayley: Now, you sure you got enough ju-ju for a world-wide locator spell?
Freya: [determinedly] He's my family. I won't lose him.
Elijah smiles.
[Freya takes a deep breath before putting her hands around the rim of the bowl of blood and beginning the spell.]
Bella: We won't. [Bella grabs Freya's hand and they chant together.]
Freya&Bella: Le six ce strul no cruv. Le six ce strul no cruv. [Meanwhile, at the Mikaelson Compound, Aurora is sprawled out on her stomach on Klaus' bed while Klaus himself sits on the floor in front of the bed frame, sipping on a glass of bourbon. After a moment, Aurora smirks playfully and leans forward to start kissing Klaus' neck from behind, and the expression on his face is torn between pleasure and fury. Klaus finishes his drink before jumping to his feet and spinning to face Aurora at vampire speed, causing her to gasp in shock for a moment. He then grabs her roughly by the hair and begins to kiss her passionately, which she returns in kind. When he pulls away, they stare at each other breathlessly for a split second before he pushes her backward onto the bed and crawls on top of her.]
"Seriously?! She just admitted she kidnapped our brother!" Said Freya.
"Another persuit." Said Bella. Klaus pointed at Bella.
[At St. Louis Cathedral, Freya and Bella continue the spell as Bella pours the bowl full of blood onto the map where Africa is situated.]
Bella&Freya: [chants] Le six ce strul no cruv. [Bella hands the bowl to Freya, who joins her, Hayley, and Marcel in watching the map hopefully. Freya and Bella focuses all of their energy on concentrating on Elijah, but the blood just spreads out until it is covering the entire map.]
Freya: [frustratedly] Damnit! [Bella looks at the others in alarm, while Freya, Hayley, and Marcel look disappointed.]
Hayley: Well, so much for witch- GPS.
"It was probably clocked with coven." Defended Bella her future self.
Freya: [shakily] I assumed they'd cloaked her. I didn't expect a spell this strong.
Bella: [anxiously] No doubt conjured by the very witch who lured Elijah into this trap.[Freya sighs, visibly frustrated and stressed by this turn of events, before sitting down at her table to brainstorm.]
Freya: You should all go. I have my work cut out for me. [Marcel turns his attention to Bella.]
Marcel: The Strix trust me. If they know where Elijah is, I can find him. [Bella starts to walk toward the staircase to leave, looking frantic.]
Bella: There's no time. You need to stop witch from activating Lucien and Tristan's weapon. [Marcel nods and leaves the attic just as Hayley turns to Bella.]
Hayley: Well, in the meantime, please tell me that we're gonna kill someone?
Bella: (smirks) Oh, we're going to kill many someones. But first-- if we are to start a war, let us determine where allegiances lie.
Elijah nods in approval.
[Bella turns without another word and leaves the cathedral. Some time later, Bella returns to the Mikaelson compound, where she begins to loudly call out for Klaus as soon as he enters the courtyard.]
Bella: Nik! Nik! [Just then, Klaus appears on the balcony behind her, looking unamused.]
Klaus: You shout loud enough to wake the dead.
Bella: [annoyed] Can't pick up your phone? Your brother is missing. [Before Klaus can reply, Aurora comes out onto the balcony in Klaus' button-down shirt and joins their conversation. Klaus immediately sighs in embarrassment.]
Elijah gives Klaus 'really?' Look.
Aurora: He's not exactly missing. And, as long as everyone behaves themselves, you can trust me to tell you where he is. [Klaus smiles a tiny smile at Bella in hopes that she will understand that he has a plan, but Bella just glares at Aurora. Aurora's fake-nice tone of voice disappears and is replaced by a more sarcastic one.]
Aurora: Hello, my sire. [Bella glares at her furiously.]
Bella: Hello, my disappointment.
Kol snickered.
Aurora: Rude.
Bella: Give me my brother. Or will pay little visit to your brother, Tristan.
Klaus: [exasperatedly] Bella, please. Aurora and I have come to an agreement. [Klaus places one hand on Aurora's back, and Bella looks annoyed. Klaus gives Bella a sheepish look as though he's embarrassed about having to play along with her game.]
Aurora: [smiles] Yes, Nik and I find now that your vile act of compulsion has been revealed, there's really no reason why we can't pick up where we left off a thousand years ago. [Klaus pulls Aurora closer to him so that their faces are only inches apart.]
Klaus: Go on, love. I need to have a word with my sister. [Aurora smiles and nuzzles her nose in his neck before she leaves, and Klaus once again shoots a sheepish smile at Bella.]
[The scene cuts to Klaus' study, where he and Bella are arguing about Klaus' plans.]
Bella: Seriously?! Your plan is fucking information out of her?
"Seems like it." Said amused Kol.
[Klaus walks over to Bella. with two drinks in his hands and gives one to her.]
Klaus: The Strix took our brother. Aurora simply hijacked him. I will get Elijah back. Trust me. Keeping Aurora close garners the goodwill we need. [Klaus sips his drink as Bella considers this plan, sighs deeply and closes her eyes for a long moment until Klaus, understanding Bella's fear, sighs as well.]
Klaus: There must be another way.
Bella: [brainstorms] Aurora will always protect Tristan... And, given that he and Lucien are aligned, the three of them together have a distinct advantage on us. [Klaus seems intrigued by where Bella is going with this, and Bella suddenly gets an idea.]
Bella: ...Unless we break that advantage.
"Good plan." Said Elijah.
"Thanks." Said Bella.
Klaus: [impressed] Now there's a strategy I wholeheartedly endorse! What do you have in mind?
Bella: It's Thanksgiving. Let's invite them for a friendly meal, systematically turn them against one another, and then devastate their pitiful alliance! [Klaus grins devilishly at Bella, and the two tap their glasses against each other in toast.]
Bella: [smiles] I can feel the holiday spirit already! [Bella leaves the room, and Klaus smiles enthusiastically.]
