Chapter 47

DAVILLA ESTATE
[After few hours, Marcel, Hayley, Bella, Elijah, Layla and Evan are still in Davilla Estate.]
Elijah: Freya, are you alright?
Freya: Yeah. I just need to focus.
"You are gonna channel that place?" Asked Davina.
"Of course she will. That's where hundreds of vampires and even few witches died. There is magic everywhere. That is why sacrifice was made." Said Bella.
Freya: Give me your hands. [Layla, Bella and Elijah give her their hands] Verha hel igjen. Verha hel igjen. Verha hel igjen. Verha hel igjen. Verha hel igjen. Verha hel igjen. Verha hel igjen. [Klaus awakens.]
Everyone looks happy and Bella hugs Klaus happily.
"You are back! You are back!" Said Bella.
MIKAELSON COMPOUND
[Hayley is sitting in front of the lit fire in the fireplace in her bedroom, her eyes red and wet with tears, when Bella walks in slowly. She stops right behind her and holds out the list, which she takes and opens to find that all of the names are crossed off. She sits next to her on the bench as Hayley crushes up the list in her hands and throws it in the fire, deliberately not taking her eyes off of the fire.]
Hayley: I love Elijah.
Elijah frozes in shock. Hayley herself looks shocked at admission. Klaus and Bella have smug expressions.
"HAYLEIJAH!" Cheered Layla.
[Bella looks stunned by admission.]
Hayley: And Jackson knew that. And he died loving me, despite it. And now it's like he's right there and I'm... hurting him all over again.
Hayley looks down.
[Hayley looks up at the ceiling to stop herself from crying, and wipes stray tears from her eyes.]
Bella: He's dead and one day you'll have to accept that. I know you don't want to move on and it sounds impossible, but you are immortal now and with time you will get used to living without him. You'll still miss him and it'll still hurt, but you will learn how to live with that pain.
"Wise words." Said Layla.
"Yeah, i'm pretty smart." Said Bella.
Bella: And about your guilt. It's pointless. You said it youself. He knew you love Elijah. He knew what he was getting into, but he still chose to do it. By saying he died because of you, you are insulting his sacrifice. [Hayley looks at her vulnerably.]
Hayley: It's not that easy.
Bella: Trust me, i know.
Bella looks at Kol, Kol notices and smiles at her reassuringly.
[Bella stands up to go.]
Bella: And Hayley, Jackson would understand if now he's gone, you'll make move on Elijah. That's actually what he would want. Because it will make you happy and all he wanted for you is happiness.
Hayley kept glancing from screen to Elijah to screen.
[Hayley looks like she's about to cry more, and Bella turns and walks away without another word. Once she's gone, she bursts into tears.]
LUCIEN'S PENTHOUSE
[Bella is standing in front of Lucien's bedroom door, she finally manages to open the door. Walking around slowly, she sees book on nightstand and opens it. She sees old drawing of her and Lucien and can't take it anymore, she sits at bad slowly and starts sobbing.]
Offscreen Bella's trying to hold back her tears and miserably failing. Klaus and Kol squeez her hands in support, Bella weakily smiles at them.
[Bella hugs the drawning to her chest and starts singing her new song "Elestic hear" (In reality, Sia (feat. The Weeknd & Diplo)).]
Bella: And another one bites the dust

[Bella swipes the page and sees Aurora's drawing.]
Everyone glares.
[She takes shakey breath and continues song.]
Bella: But there were so many red flags

[Bella wipes her tears off and stands up.]
Bella: I'm still fighting for peace

THE MIKAELSON MANSION
[Hayley goes into common room where Elijah is already standing and watching fire.]
Hayley: You okay?
Elijah: Bella asked me something, who I might be if Niklaus no longer needed me. Did I have any desires of my own? And I thought about it. There was a time, long ago, I do recall, I wanted more. Somehow I have ... I lost the feelings - beneath blood and chaos.
"It's not a bad thing to want something for yourself. Sometimes it's good to be selfish." Said Bella.
Hayley: Hey. You can't let the bad things that you did in your past define you. I know you. You are good.
Elijah: No, you are good. I was wrong when I said that you were a Mikaelson. You're not a Mikaelson. You don't have a Mikaelson heart. There's just too much good in you. It's why I love you.
"Hey! She did as much bad as we did. She just had less time to do it, it doesn't mean she's better." Said offended Bella. Hayley looked down. Elijah sent glare toward Bella, Bella glared back.
Hayley: I love you, too. [They kiss each other.]
"Finally!" Exclaimed Layla. Hayley and Elijah glanced at each other.
THE MIKAELSON MANSION
[Bella and Layla are talking in the Mikaelson Mansion.]
Layla: Mom, i just got a call. Many werewolves were kidnapped for months. To sum it up, Someone is hunting royal bloodline of werewolves and no one knows why.
People look intrigued.
Bella: Interesting. Do you have any leads?
Layla: Yes and I thought you would come.
Bella: I can't. Nik--
Layla: (interrupts) will be okay. He has Elijah, Freya, Marcel and Hayley. You defeated Aurora, Tristan, Strix, brought your brother back from dead and undaggered another one. They will be okay few weeks without you. [Bella looks thoughtful.]
Layla: I will also leave some of our guys including Evan. [Bella answers hesistanly.]
Bella: I'll talk to Nik and Elijah.
"They agreed to Layla, so Bella, Enzo and Layla left." Said Emma.
WILLOUGHBY LAKE BAR
[Layla and Enzo are drinking their moonshine while Bella complains about their current hide-out.]
Bella: I'm quite sure this glass hasn't been washed in the past decade, which makes it the cleanest thing in this establishment.
"You are such a snob." Said Hayley.
"I'm not a snob just because i like cleaniness." Said Bella.
Layla: [rolls her eyes] And you have hit your complaint quota for the day. Congrats. [While they talk, the bar's landline phone starts to ring, and Hollis walks over to answer it. Layla, Enzo and Bella immediately notices his concern.]
Enzo: Is everything okay?
Hollis: Someone tried to rob the Gas 'n' Save down by the highway. Kayla was there. I heard it went back for the bad guy.
Layla: [shocked] Kayla McInnis?
Hollis: [nods] Her first.
Enzo: Wait, isn't she like, nine years old?
Hollis: Fifteen. [Bella looks confused, since she has no idea who they're talking about, so Enzo elaborates for her.]
Layla: A girl we used to babysit for. Her mother was my friend until she started drinking and...
"That's why you took care of her. Her mother was absent, wasn't she?" Said Hayley. Layla nodded.
Layla: The last time I saw her, she was playing with dolls. Now, she's killed someone and triggered the wolf curse.
Enzo: Where is she?
Hollis: The cops let her go home. Little trailer down by the creek. [Hollis, looking sad, walks away, and Layla and Enzo immediately gets up to leave, Bella sights and follows.]
KAYLA'S TRAILER
[Night has fallen, and Layla and Enzo has just arrived to Kayla's trailer, where she's knocked on the door. Kayla, a young teenage girl with long dark hair answers the door, looking devastated. When she sees Layla and Enzo standing in front of her, she bursts into tears and rushes toward them to give them a hug.]
Kayla: Lay! Enzo!
Enzo: I am so sorry, kiddo. [They pull away, and walk toward a small campfire near the trailer.]
Layla: I heard there's not much of a pack left, so I thought you might need someone to talk to.
Bella smiles at Layla proudly.
[Kayla nods silently, but she's still obviously overwhelmed by everything that is happening.]
Enzo: But here's the thing you need to remember as you deal with all of this-- you're a lot tougher than you think you are. And, no matter how awful you feel, you're not alone.
Klaus and Hayley look touched.
[Layla looks over and sees a large branch sticking out of the fire, which she picks up and uses as a torch.]
Layla: Come on. There's someplace I want you to see. [Kayla looks confused, but she and Enzo follow Layla as she leads them through the woods with their torch lighting the way.]
CLEARING IN THE WOODS
[Layla has just brought Kayla and Enzo to a clearing in the woods near her trailer, where various personal items have been spread around-- a teddy bear perched under a tree, a pair of sneakers hanging from the branches, Mardi Gras beads and various other items strewn around. Layla uses the torch to light several more torches that have been stuck in the ground while Kayla looks at their new location.]
Kayla: What is this place?
Layla: The pack used to come here when someone triggered their curse. Not to ask for forgiveness, but... to accept what they had done. To honor the dead in order to move on. [She looks at Kayla, who looks utterly overwhelmed.]
Bella looks proud.
Kayla: I don't even know his name... [Layla smiles gently and walks over to her, pulling a wallet out of her jacket pocket and handing it to her.]
Layla: Here. This was his. [Enzo looks at Layla with loving eyes. Kayla looks at Layla questioningly, and Layla huffs a laugh.]
Layla: I have an old friend at the Sheriff's department. I called in a favor. [Kayla looks down at the wallet, unsure of what to do or say.]
Layla: Look, I have watched many werewolves turn. I know the turning is gonna hurt. And your first full moon is gonna be a real bitch. But, like I said, you're tough. You can handle it. [Bella, who, unbeknownst to the girls and Enzo, is lurking in the shadows behind them, also seems to be looking at Layla with knowing look.]
"What is that look for?" Said Layla.
"You are adopting her without even realising. So is Enzo." Said Bella.
"I- I'm not..." said Layla. Bella and Klaus gave her an amused look.
Layla: You'll never forget what happened, but... You can't let the past define who you are. [Bella seems proud of Layla.]
"I'm so proud of you, firefly." Said Bella to Layla. Layla beamed at her.
[Kayla gently opens the wallet and pulls out the work ID of the man she killed before hanging it up on the tree to signify his life and death. Bella catches the ID Kayla hung on the tree out of the corner of her eye, and she looks horrified when she gets a closer look at it. Layla and Enzo's expressions become concerned.]
Layla: What's wrong?
Bella: I know exactly who had been hunting werewolves for months. [She gets up and walks over to the tree to look at the ID, which has "Kingmaker land development" stamped above the photo of the man Kayla accidentally killed. Layla and Enzo look worried.]
"Lucien." Said Mikaelsons together.
