The Rising Volt Tacklers sit in the meeting room as Diana sits at the head of the table, "I've heard rumors of sailors getting lost at sea by a strange white mist and then a singing Pokemon guides them to safety. I think this may be Lucius's Lapras."
Ash, Liko, Roy beamed, "You think so?" Roy asked.
"It's a possibility," Diana chuckled. "This rumor has been around for a long time, I even tried to search for this Pokemon myself when I was younger."
"We can look for it right now." Dot perked up, "I found some sightings online."
"Where's the most recent report?" Friede asked.
"Not too far from here," Dot answered, "We can head there right now."
Friede smirked, "So now we know where we're headed."
The Brave Olivine land near the waters beside a ship. Friede, Ash, Liko, and Roy disembark to speak with the captain. "Greetings, sir." Friede greeted the man, "We heard you had an encounter with a singing Pokemon in a white mist. Can you tell us more about it?"
"Oh, it was a beautiful song." The captain swooned, "The fog suddenly showed up, and then that Lapras saved us from trouble."
"Do you know where Lapras is now?" Friede asked.
The captain shook his head, Liko notices the crew restocking Berries, "Do you lose something while Lapras was helping you?"
The captain saw what Liko was referring to, "Oh yeah, the ship had shook fiercely through the fog, and some cargo went overboard."
Before anyone can say anything else, a familar cry is heard on the horizon. The captain perks up, "Could it be? Has Lapras graced us with its presence again?"
The group look over the edge of the ship to see a Lapras nearby, "Is that it?" Roy eagerly asked.
The captaind eflated in disappointment, "No, the Lapras from before had donned scars and had a different shell."
The Lapras spots Ash and lets out a happy cry, Ash's eyes widen in recognition. "Hey, that's my Lapras!"
Ash's Lapras swims up to the side of the ship and Ash embraces her neck, "Hey girl, how've you been?"
"So this is the Lapras you were talking about." Roy commented.
Ash nodded, "We parted ways so that she can be with her family," Ash turned to his Lapras, "Say, where are they?"
Lapras speaks to Pikachu, who translates to Ash through charades. Ash spoke out Pikachu's movements so that the others could understand, "You grew up and left the pack, and you heard about this Lapras and you wanted to meet it."
Ash's Lapras nods and lets out a happy cry that her trainer understands.
Ash smirked, "Well, we wanna see that Lapras too! Let's team up for old times sake!"
Ash's Lapras lets out a happy cry as if to say she agrees. The trainers bid farewell to the captain and his crew before heading back inside the Brave Olivine. Friede docks the airship into the water and shifts it into sea-mode for easier Lapras searching. Friede has Nosepass point north as Liko scans Ash's Lapras with her Rotom Phone.
"Lapras, the Transport Pokémon. A Water and Ice type. A gentle soul with high intelligence, Lapras is able to understand human speech. When it's in a good mood, it swims through the seas, singing with its beautiful voice."
"I met a couple Lapras too." Roy perked up, "They came to my island and let the villagers ride on their backs."
"Do you think Lucius's Lapras will let us ride on its back?" Liko asked.
"Oh, I'm sure!" Roy grinned.
Ash thought for a moment, "I'm not too sure."
Roy perked up, "Why not? All the Lapras I met were friendly. And your Lapras seems so nice!"
"She wasn't always that way." Ash explained, "When I first met her, she was afraid of humans and I had to earn her trust. Every Pokemon is different."
Liko and Roy nodded in understanding before spotting a crate from the ship they had just interviewed. Liko notices more crates forming a trail towards a layer of rocks nearby. Terapagos senses something, catching everyone's attention. "Looks like we've reached the target area," Friede declared. "Everyone keep lookout."
"Hopefully Lapras will be easier to talk to than Moltres." Roy commented, making Ash and Liko chuckle.
"We'll have to see." Ash responded, "Remember, every Pokemon is different."
The mist suddenly appears, much to the joy of everyone. Ash's Lapras begins to call out to the mist as everyone begins to hear a song. The Brave Olivine begins to shake, just as the captain had said. A shadow bearing the shape of Lapras appears in the mist, Ash's Lapras continues to call out to the shadow as does Terapagos. The shadow begins to disappear, "I'm gonna head to the control room and go after it." Friede said before exiting the room.
"Something doesn't seem right," Diana muttered.
The trainer hear a cry of distress from Fuecoco. Ash, Liko, Roy and Dot head towards the source of the noise to the cargo hold. Findign Fuecoco playing tug-of-war with an Ambipom over a Tamato Berry. Alongside a Pokemon looking similar to Tentacruel stealing the rest.
"What's an Ambipom doing here?" Ash asked, "And is that a pink Tentacruel that can walk?!"
Ash pulled out his Rotom Phone, "Toedscruel, the Woodear Pokémon and the evolved form of Toedscool. A Ground and Grass type, It coils its 10 tentacles around prey and sucks out their nutrients, causing the prey pain. The folds along the rim of its head are a popular delicacy."
Toedscruel uses Mud-Slap to blind Fuecoco and allow Ambipom to steal the berry. "Sprigatito, stop them with Quick Attack!" Liko exclaimed.
"Use Quick Attack too Pikachu!" Ash added on.
Pikachu and Sprigatito strike the thieves and force them to retreat. Dot and Quaxly spot a shadow speading away from the ship.
The Rising Volt Tacklers meet back up in the meeting room as rhe fog dies down and the shadow vanishes. Both Ash and Dot's Quaxlys help wide the mud off Fuecoco. "I guess that Lapras dove underwater," Friede guessed.
"My Lapras is pretty bummed out," Ash said sadly, "She really wanted to meet that Lapras."
"We saw and Ambipom and and Toedscruel," Liko pointed out, "They were trying to steal food."
Friede perked up, "What would an Ambipom and Toedscruel be doing out on the water? They usually live in more grassy habitats."
"Those weren't the only Pokemon on board," Dot said, showing everyone a photo of the shadow she saw sneaking away.
"Maybe it was a boat?" Roy estimated, "That could've been Ambipom and Toadscruel's trainer."
"Maybe," Friede places his hand on his chin, "But that wouldn't explain how the Mist happened so suddenly."
"Doesn't Lapras learn the move Mist?" Liko asked.
"Yeah, it does." Diana repiled.
Friede snapped his fingers with an idea, "We're gonna met Lapras again. Orla, you're on engine room. Ludlow, you're stealing. Kids, you gotta keep lookout with me. Mollie and Murdock, I need you to bring all of the Pokemon food out of the cargo hold and onto the wing deck."
Everyone takes their places in the plan as the Brave Olivine takes a U-Turn. Friede waits on the wing deck just as the fog kicks up again. Cap creates a vortex with Volt Tackle that clears up the fog in an instant. Cap points to the side of the ship to see Toadscruel, Ambipom and many other Pokemon riding atop a Wailord covered in scars. Ambipom and Toedscruel hop aboard the ship and begin stealing the crates Mollie and Murdock left out.
"Seems to me that Lapras was in on this whole thing." Friede declared.
"That is so not cool!" Ash exclaimed, his Lapras leting out an angry cry.
Liko anxiously looked up with Terapagos in her arms. Coming face-to-face with a Lapras with a damaged shell and two scares, one on its neck and another on its left eye, glaring down at Liko and Roy.
