What If Ash was in Pokemon Horizons?

A Wild Mom Appears!

Ash, Liko, Roy and Dot chase Tinkatink around the airship. Dot ignoring multiple vibrations from her Rotom Phone. Tinkatink is suddenly caught by a Midnight-Form Lycanrock, with a woman and Friede behind it.

"Uh oh," Dot muttered.

"Hey guys," Friede greeted, "I just picked up someone I want you all to meet. This is Murdock's sister and Dot's mother: Franka."

Roy gasped, "That's your mom?"

"What are you doing here, Mom?" Dot asked, clearly annoyed.

"Just popping in since neither your or your uncle bothered to respond to my messages." Franka said with a bit of sass. "Although it's a nice surprise to know that the World Monarch has been with you all this time. How long has he been here? How'd you do it at only ten-years-old?"

"Ugh," Dot scoffed, "Just ignore her, she likes to ramble on."

"Why was I here again?" Franka asked, "Oh right! Dot, your trial period on the Brave Olivine is over so I'm here to pick you up."

"Trial period?" Liko asked.

Franka looks around to see Dot is nowhere to be seen. "Huh, no worries! We'll catch up once we're back home!"

"Home?!" Ash gasped.

Murdock walked up to the group, "Sorry about her, she's never stopped worrying about Dot ever since she's been here."

"She's even more of a worrywart than you." Remarked Friede.

"I can't believe that's her mom." Roy said, "Dot's never that energetic outside of being Nidothing."

"Nidothing, what's that?" Franka asked, "Is that what she's been doing when shes cooped up in her room? I've only went in there once and she got super mad at me."

"Probably was in the middle of a Nidothing stream then." Roy theorized.

Liko gasped, "So you're the mom from that livestream?!"

"Take it easy, Liko." Ash patted her shoulder, "We got more important things to talk about."

Franka looks up Nidothing on her Rotom Phone, "Oh wow, my Dot's so popular! I must ask her about this Nidothing!"

Murdock sighed, knowing he can't stop his sister simply hands the Maushold a box of donuts, "Take these to her, maybe she'll be in a better mood."

"Y'know, Dot really likes her room." Ash thought out-loud. "She's probably over there. Maybe we can go talk to her for you instead!"

Franka felt tears come to her eyes, "Oh, go right ahead! My Dot is so lucky to have such great friends!"

The trainers arrive at Dot's door, "Dot, it's us." Liko said, "We just wanna talk, what's this trial period stuff about?"

Dot opened the door and let her friends come in, they sat on her bed while she sat on her chair.  "One day, I met Friede at my house, he asked me to fix the app he made for the RVT. I made the app and joined the crew by convincing my mom that it was just a trial period. And she tol me I could stay with them until my trial period is over. She's been bugging me ever since."

"I think I've heard this before," Ash remarked, looking at Liko and Roy, who remember their own troubles with their respective father and grandfather. "And I kinda know what's like too."

Ash shows them his call history on his Rotom Phone, the most consistent contact names being "Mom" "Professor Kukui" and "Professor Burnet"

"Woah," Roy said, "Why are those two Professors calling you?"

"Y'know how some Pokemon have different appearances depending on the region? Like Alolan forms?" Ash asked and the others nodded, "Well, I like to think the professors as my Alolan parents."

"Aw..." Liko swooned, "That's so sweet."

Franka suddenly enters the room, "There you are! Why don't you ever tell me anything?!"

"Cause you're so annoying." Dot muttered under her breath.

"Excuse me?!" Franka exclaimed, "I'm annoying because I am your mother!"

Franka suddenly notices Dot's Quaxly in the room and beams, "Oo, you;ve become a Pokemon Trainer? Why don't we have a little battle."

Dot groaned, "Fine."

The Rising Volt Tacklers gather at the wing deck to witness the battle between mother and daughter. "Battles speack louder than words, dear!" Franka exclaimed, "So tell me how you're feeling!"

Dot rolled her eyes, "Whatever."

Quaxly starts the battle with Water Gun, which Lycanroc dodges. Qaxly fires off two more Water Guns that Lycanroc dodges. "Y'know, Uncle Murdock said how you've been staying in your room on the ship too."Qua

"Yeah, I have." Dot replied, "But I've made friends that help me enjoy the outside world."

"So, what made you become a Pokemon Trainer now?" Franka asked, "You weren't interested back home."

"It's been more exciting when i met Quaxly, and then even more exciting when I met Tinkatink." Dot replied.

Quaxly strikes Lycanroc with Pound, Lycanrock strikes back with Counter. "I can do everything that was out of reach from my room now!" Dot exclaimed, Quaxly's Water Gun collides wuth Lycanroc's Rock Throw. Lycanroc strikes with another Counter as Quaxly tries to charge towards it. Dot points towards Lycanroc's legs and Quaxly strikes Lycanroc in the legs with Pound, which Lycanroc endures. Lycanrock tries to strike with Counter that Quaxly dodges and strikes with a kick to knock Lycanroc over.

"What was that?!" Dot asked in astonishment.

"Low Kick!" Ash yelled from the sidelines.

Quaxly strikes Lycanroc with another Low Kick, sending the opposing Pokemon flying into Murdock's arms. "Mom, I wanna stay with the Rising Volt Tacklers!" Dot admitted.

Franka's eyes fill with tears as she pulls Dot into hug. "I was hoping you'd say that, of course you can stay.

Ash, Liko and Roy let out a sugh of relief. "Oh thank Arcues, she can stay!" Roy exclaimed.
