Liko, Ash and Roy arrive at Artazon, where they see lots of Grass-Type Pokemon. They spot two Sunflora by a Sunflora sculpture, made by Brassius himself.
Ash: Wow! So many new Pokemon!
Roy: Hey Ice cream man, have you seen a black Rayquaza?
Ice Cream Man: A black Rayquaza? Sorry I've never heard of such a thing.
Roy: Aw man!
Soon, Liko, Ash and Roy encounter Nemona, who uses her Pawmo to defeat a Skiploom in battle.
Nemona looks over and sees the trio, focussing on Ash.
Nemona: Oh my Arcues! Ash Ketchum, The World Monarch, is right here infront of me! Let's have a battle right now!
Ash: Alright! Make it a 3 on 3!
Nemona: Fine by me!
Liko: Ash, We're here to see Brassius!
Ash: Oh yeah, sorry, looks like we're gonna have to save our battle for later.
Nemona takes Liko, Ash and Roy to Brassius' atelier
Nemoma: Brassius is the gym leader of Artazon.
Liko: You're a champion ranked trainer...
Ash: You're a champion too!?
Nemona: Yeah, but Paldea does champions differently.
Liko nervously shakes Nemona's hand.
Nemona: I also have business with Brassius too seeing how he's been absent from Gym Battles for a while now.
Ash: A gym leader who refuses to battle, I've seen that before.
Roy: Really?
Ash: Yep, back during my Sinnoh days.
Pikachu: Pika Pi.
The group hears shattering nearby and find Brassius smashing one of his sculptures.
Brassius looking so on edge makes Liko anxious, so Ash decides to give her a hand.
Ash: Hey, Brassius, we were sent here my Liko's father.
This thrills Brassius, whose unsettling brand of excitement scares Liko even more, so Piakchu hops over to her and gives her a nuzzle.
Brassius invites Liko, Ash, Roy and Nemona inside for tea as they notice his passion for art, as seen with all the sculptures of Grass-Type Pokemon around his house. Brassius' Doliv shoots its oils onto Pawmo. Doliv is nervous until Sprigatito uses its sweet scent to make it happy. The elated Doliv shoots more oil at Pawmo.
Roy: Brassius, we're here about a black Rayquaza.
The news doesn't thrill Brassius one bit. Brassius heads downstairs and anxiously stands over a shattered black Rayquaza sculpture. Out of the corner of her eye, Liko notices a piece of the black Rayquaza sculpture, realizing that Brassius is on a slump, something Alex has experienced as well.
Liko: Maybe we should do something to make him smile.
Ash: That's a great idea!
Roy: Maybe we should try gathering Sunflora for him.
Arriving at Sunflora Lawn, Liko, Ash, Roy, and Nemona split up to look for Sunflora.
Ash has a simple plan, hide and lanch himself at any that he sees, he moslty falls for statues, but he does round up a few.
Liko gathers up a lot more Sunflora (33 Sunflora) than Roy (10 Sunflora) and Nemona (15 Sunflora) and Ash (5 Sunflora) by the time their search is over.
Liko: i'm sure these Sunflora will cheer up Brassius!
Dolliv then shows up and shoots Brassius with its oil, blowing his cover. Brassius, seeing no other way around it, brings Liko, Roy, and Nemona back to his house, where he presents the giant black Rayquaza with a tortured Sunflora sculpture he worked on.
Brassius: I have been working on this piece to capture the intensity of the Rayquaza through a Sunflora's eyes, and then my whole world was turned upside down when I saw the real black Rayquaza, which is why I've been a slump and lost interest in Gym battling.
Liko and Ash feel bad seeing Brassius at such a low point, Ash evens puts his hand on Brassius' shoulder.
Roy: I wanna go to the forest where you saw it!
Brassius: How about a gym battle?
Roy: Yeah!
Ash: Aw man! I wanted to challenge the gym....
Brassius sends out his Sudowoodo to face Roy's Fuecoco.
Ash: Be careful Roy! Don't use a fire type move!
Roy: But it's a Grass Type, use Ember!
However, it does little damage due to Sudowoodo being a Rock type.
Roy: What?
Ash: I tried to tell you! It's a rock type!
Roy: But isn't he the grass gym leader?
Brassius commands Sudowoodo to use Rock Throw, which hits Fuecoco hard. Sudowoodo uses Rock Throw again. Fuecoco dodges, charging at Sudowoodo with Tackle. However, Sudowoodo uses Substitute, which outsmarts Fuecoco again and again. Sudowoodo follows up with Taunt, making Fuecoco mad and prompting it to use Ember instead of Tackle as Roy commands. Brassius tells Roy that his focus should be on his own Pokemon instead of finding the real Sudowoodo. In its rage, Fuecoco stomps the ground and cracks it underneath its feet. Fuecoco has learned Stomping Tantrum, which gets rid of another substitute. Fuecoco follows up with the same move, scoring a super-effective hit on the real Sudowoodo. Brassius then Terastallizes Sudowoodo into a Grass Tera Type, calling this piece "The Lie That Came True".
Ash: Woah! What is that?!
Nemona: Terastallization, my friend!
Ash: So cool!
Piakchu: Pi Piakchu!
Roy has Fuecoco use Ember, but Sudowoodo avoids it and hits Fuecoco with Trailblaze, knocking it out.
After the battle,
Nemona: Tera Types are Pokemon types shown through terastallization, and sometime's it's different than either of the Pokemon's usual type.
Ash: Wow!
Meanwhile, Team Rocket watches from a bush.
Jessie: You hear that boys? Tera types, terastallization?
James: Yes, our Pokemon could have hidden types.
Meowth: I could have a hidden type! We need to find a way to terastallize!
Wobbuffet: Wobbuffet!
Brassius congratulates Roy on a great battle before sharing another sculpture at his house, "The Forest Arboliva". Arboliva's forest is where he saw the black Rayquaza, and then Arboliva resonated with the Legendary Pokémon. Liko notices something about this sculpture before she, Ash and Roy return to the Brave Asagi and share what they found.
Liko: The sculpture Brassius showed them gave off a sad vibe.
Ash: Oh really?
Roy: Maybe it means something.
Meanwhile, in a dark forest, a shadowy Arboliva walks through.
