What If Ash was in Pokemon Horizons?

Fly! Wattrel!!

Liko, Friede, Ash and Murdock wait outside Dot's door as she attempts to get the signal back so the Brave Olivine can begin the voyage to Galar. "Y'know, Dot." Friede began, "Maybe we should start up the ship and just see what happens."

"That's way to dangerous." Dot's voice could be heard from within, "The ship will just fly straight."

"Well, if that's the case I may as well do some shopping in Levincia." Murdock turned to the children, "You kiddos wanna join me?"

Dot: No way! That's way too dangerous, the ship will only fly straight!

Ash and Liko nodded and the three of them headed off to Levincia, "Hey Liko," Murdock said midway through the walk, "I just wanted to say thanks again for inviting Dot to the picnic."

"Of course!" Liko replied, "She's a Rising Volt Tackler too."

Murdock chuckled, "And that's the kind of attitude I wanna keep seeing. I hope both of you keep being her friend, Roy too. I know she'll need great friends like the three of you."

Ash and Liko nodded, "I hope she can fix the ship." Liko said.

"Don't you worry, she'll find a way." Murdock reassured, "We'll get through this like we've done before."

The trainers arrive in Levincia and enter a nearby shop, Ash stays outside to avoid fans crowding up the store. Soon a swarm of fans show up asking for autographs and photos. Soon Liko and Murdock exit the store, "Looks like we got everything." Murdock checked his list, "I was hoping I'd be able to score some Spicy Herba Mystica, but I'll make do with what I've got."

Ash breaks from the crowd of fans and the three of them quickly dash back to the Brave Olivine. On their way back, they see Roy and Fuecoco lead a Wattrel through jumping drills. "Hey, isn't that the same Wattrel frome before?" Ash thought out loud, "Hey Roy! What are you doing?

"I'm trying to help Wattrel and its fear of flying!" Roy yelled.

"Oh really?" Ash eyed Liko, "It's almost like you're its trainer..."

Ash nudges his body towards the sun in the horizon, it's still daytime and the two of them seem to. be bonding, giving him advantage in the bet. Liko just smirks and shakes her head, confident that she'll prevail.

Wattrel jumps down succesfully and earns a applause. Roy then ties Wattrel onto Ludlow's fishing rod to simulate flying over the nearby river. Liko suddenly feels her Rotom Phone vibrate and sees an ad that the Spicy Herba Mystica is back in stock. She sees Ash and Murdock invested in Wattrel's training and sneaks off to buy the Herba Mystica and give Murdock a nice surprise.

Roy begins swinging the rod to give Wattrel extra momentum, Wattrel flaps its wings and produces electricity which snaps the rope of the pole, sending it pummeling down into the river. The trainers peek down and see Wattrel hovering over the river as a gust of wind lifts it up and it soars up to the top of. anearby watchtower to join its flock.

Ash and Roy cheer for Wattrel as Murdock approaches Roy, "Excellent job, Roy. That was amazing!"

The trainers turn to return to the Brave Olivine, Wattrel notices them leaving and flies down to Roy, the trainer in question turns around and sees Wattrel flying to him. "Wattrel? What are you doing back here?" Roy asked.

Murdock smirked before handing Roy a Poke Ball, "I think I know where this is going."

"You think Wattrel wants to be my Pokemon?" Roy asked.

"Duh!" Ash exclaimed, "You've just helped it fly after it stole your sandwich!"

Roy chuckled and tapped Wattrel with the Poke Ball, it shakes thrice before snapping shut. "Wattrel's data has been registered to your Pokedex!"

Ash smiles as Roy cheers, feeling glad for both his friend and the fact he just won the bet. He looks around and spots that Liko is nowhere to be seen, so Ash decides to wait until Liko gets back before telling her to pay up.
