The next day, Nemona takes Liko, Ash, Roy, and Mollie to the forest, which has been ravaged by a devastating wildfire. As they traverse the burnt woods, hoping rain will restore it, they notice an area that's completely untouched. The group heads down there,
Roy: I'll scout ahead!
Ash: Alright, we should meet at the big tree if we ever get lost.
Liko: Sounds good.
Roy heads off as Ash, Liko and Mollie stay behind.
Liko: I don't I take after either of my parents.
Ash: What makes you say that?
Liko: I've never felt certain things about stuff I wanted to do, unlike them.
Ash: Well that might mean you just haven't done thing that made you feel that way, give it time.
Mollie: I come from a long line of Pokemon doctors. I had followed the path that was chosen for me at youth, but I quit.
Hearing this, Ash and Liko realize why Mollie didn't go with them to get supplies from Pokemon Center.
Sprigatito finds some Oran Berries. Liko goes with Sprigatito to pick some more Oran Berries, Ash and Pikachu following, but then Liko gets nervous, and Ash notices
Ash: What's wrong?
Liko: I think we're lost...
Ash: Hey, don't worry, remember, if we get lost, we go to the big tree.
Liko: Right.
The tree starts to move, shaking the ground. Ash and Liko notice the giant tree moving, deciding to go over there.
On the way over there, Ash and Liko come across a Paldean Wooper that's dehydrated and in bad shape.
Liko: Oh no!
Ash: We gotta help it!
They try their best to tend to it, but then a Cacnea, accompanied by a Shroomish and a Hoppip, gang up on them before carrying the Wooper away.
Ash: They could be it's friends, or it's enemies coming back for round two, come on let's follow!
Pikachu: Pika Pi!
They follow them to the giant tree. The wild Pokemon try to protect Wooper from the two.
Ash: Please, we just want to help!
Liko: We don't wanna hurt anyone!
Mollie and Chansey arrive to treat the Wooper
Mollie: You wanna know why I quit? I wanted help wild Pokemon who don't go to the Pokemon Center.
Ash: A former Nurse Joy?
Just then, the giant tree starts moving again, revealing that it is not a tree, but a giant Arboliva. Roy jumps off the giant Pokemon.
Roy: Why is it so big?
Ash: Is it Dynamaxed?
Liko: What?
Ash: The fact that you don't know what that is proves that I was wrong.
Liko: It has another Ancient Poke Ball!
Ash: Roy's must not be the only one!
Arboliva starts attacking Ash, Liko and Roy with its oils. While Mollie is still treating Wooper.
Roy: Fuecoco, use Ember-
Liko: No Roy! It'll just cause another fire!
Ash: She's right.
Ash looks at Pikachu
Ash: Sorry buddy, can't risk another fire, so let's use water! Quaxly! I choose you!
Quaxly comes out, ready for anything.
Liko: Sprigatito! Quick attack!
Roy: Fuecoco! Stomping Tantrum!
Ash: Quaxly! Water Gun!
The water gun hits Arboliva in the eyes, throwing it off balance, giving Sprigatito the opportunity to use Leafage in the air to surround Arboliva. Fuecoco follows up with another Stomping Tantrum, which brings Arboliva down on its knees before falling over, almost landing on top of Fuecoco before Sprigatito saves it with Quick Attack.
Arboliva gets back up, ready to attack Ash, Liko and Roy again until Wooper comes over and pleads for it to stop. Mollie then connects with Arboliva, having gotten through to it. Wooper and the other wild Pokemon head back into the forest.
Liko: I think Arboliva wants to tell us something.
Ash: I see it too.
Arboliva picks up Ash, Liko and Roy, lifting them over its head to show them the entirety of the burnt forest.
Ash: The forest, it was hurt so badly.
Ash puts a comforting hand on Arboliva.
