What If Ash was in Pokemon Horizons?

The First Snow! Fue Fue Co!!

Ash, Roy, Liko and Dot head off to a clothing store to pack some winter clothes, Ash opts to stay hidden so people don't recognize him and just use his Crown Tundra jacket. Afterward, the group begin their journey to Montevera, the group makes their way to Mount Glasado.

Ash: According to my Rotom Phone, we'll have to pass Mount Glasado to get to Montevera.

Floragato points Liko to a nearby location where a Bergmite is feasting on berries, a Delibird and a Snorunt arrive to try the berries too, Fuecoco joins in, but snow falls from a nearby tree onto it, leading the Bergmite to think that Fuecoco is a Frigibax instead.

Then an actual Frigibax appears next to Fuecoco, and Bergmie tackles both of the Pokemon away. Roy checks on his partner while the Frigibax dives back into the fray, and their chilly battle kicks up a Blizzard. Pikachu, Fuecoco and Quaxwell try their best to stop the fight, but it can't be stopped, and then Hattrem emerges from its Poke Ball, and with a well-placed attack, both Bergmite and Frigibax are knocked out, stopping the Blizzard. The heroes reach a frozen lake and enjoy sliding across the ice with their partners before making snow angels and a snowy Captain Pikachu that they take a group picture with.

Roy and Fuecoco venture into a nearby forest and find a snoozing Cubchoo, Roy wants to get a closer look, but ends up upsetting the mother Beartic by getting too close. Ash, Liko and Dot arrive to help with Pikachu, Floragato and Quaxwell, who manage to blind the Beartic and allow the kids to escape, and they notice a nearby cabin. They enter the seemingly empty cabin and dry off while making some tea and enjoying the warmth.

The group decides to stay the night in the cabin before heading to Montenevera the very next day, the kids decides to stock up on firewood to keep the cabin warm. They split up into two groups, Liko and Dot, Ash and Roy, and everyone agrees to return to the cabin before dark. Ash and Roy stock up pretty quickly Thanks to Pikachu and Kilowattrel, but then Roy notices that Fuecoco is missing.

Roy: Uh, Ash? Have you seen Fuecoco?

Ash: No, I haven't. The little guy probably ran off to get more wood, we can look for him, I'll help you!

The boys search around the area. Roy notices a Pokemon covered in snow and thinks it's Fuecoco, but it's actually a Frigibax , and it runs away. Roy sees the same Captain Pikachu snowman nearby, so does Ash.

Ash: Dude, I think we're going in circles.

The boys keep searching til dusk, Roy has never been so broken before.

Ash: Feeling a little off?

Roy: Yeah, I never imagined being separated from Fuecoco could be like this.

Ash: I get it. I got the same way when I got separated from Pikachu, isn't that right bud?

Pikachu: Pika!

Roy: But I'm not gonna give up!

Ash: Good, Fuecoco wouldn't either.

Roy begins to sing, and Fuecoco hears him and finds them Roy immediately wraps Fuecoco in a hug. The boys begin to make their way back to the cabin and notice the Frigibax and Cubchoo from earlier enjoying some more berries. The Bergmite approaches and Roy notices the Beartic is nearby, but Fuecoco is too busy eating. Roy uses his scarf and a twig to disguise the Frigibax so that the Bergmite doesn't attack it like before and draw the Beartic's attention. More snow falls on Fuecoco, and he shifts the snow to look like the nearby Cubchoo. The Beartic returns, but it decides to enjoy the berries with Ash, Roy and the other Pokemon instead. The boys return to the cabin and explain what happened.

Liko: Well, I'm glad you found Fuecoco, Roy!

Dot: But where's all the firewood you two gathered?

Ash and Roy check their hands, which are empty.

Ash: I guess we lost it while looking for Fuecoco...

The kids make do with what they have and spend the night in the cabin. The next morning, Roy and Fuecoco walk ahead of the group, determined to reach Montenevera and start their Terastal Training test.
