What If Ash was in Pokemon Horizons?

The Treasure After the Storm!

Ash and Liko get ready for the day in their shared cabin, "I can't believe break is almost over, can you Ash?" Liko asked.

Ash perked up, "Wait, break's almost over? How are we supposed to be at class if we're traveling around?"

"Don't worry, I already told our teacher that we'll attend class online." Liko explained.

"Huh, I wonder why my friend didn't think of that." Ash thought out-loud.

"What did your friend do?" Liko asked.

"He told his teacher he'd come back on the day of a test." Ash explained.

Ash steps out of the room and allows Liko to change as he changes out of his sleepwear in the bathroom. He arrives at the door to their cabin as it opens and Liko steps out in her new outfit.

"Whoa, you look awesome!" Ash exclaimed.

Liko smiled, "Thanks Ash!"

The trainers hear some singing nearby and wander towards the sound. They spot the ship's Fuecoco singing before he spots the humans and runs off.

The trainers head into the kutchen for breakfast as Liko smiles at the compliments about her new outfit. "There was some damage to the ship last night," Friede explained, "Nothing too major, the worst thing that one of our flags came off. We docked at a nearby island to check things out. I'm gonna head onto the island and talk to the Elder. Ash, Liko, I want you guys to keep lookout of the ship for today."

Ash nodded, "Good, I don't want Team Rocket trying anything."

"But, I thought they weren't important." Liko questioned.

"Yeah, but they're still annoying and need to be stopped." Ash explained.

Everyone splits up as Liko feeds the ship's Pokemon. Ash looks at the Pokemon and notices Fuecoco isn't among them. "Hey Liko, where'd Fuecoco go?"

Liko looked at the Pokemon, realizing the same thing, "I dunno, maybe we should look around for him."

Ash nodded, "Good plan."

Ash and Liko search the airship to no avail, eventually walking onto the wing deck and finding small claw marks. "Hey, I think Fuecoco was here!" Ash concluded, "And these marks gotta mean he fell off the ship!"

Liko gasped, "Oh no, what should we do?!"

"We gotta find him!" Ash answered.

"But how?" Liko asked.

Ash searched the area before finding two wires anchored on the edge of the wing deck. "Alright, hope you've heard of ziplining!"

"What are you talking about?" Liko asked.

Ash grabbed onto one of the wires and slid down to the island, Liko stares at him like a Magikcarp out of water before Sprigatito encourages her to do the same. She grabs onto the other wire and screams as she slides down, crashing into the sand beside Ash.

The trainers begin searching the forests, calling out Fuecoco's name. Eventually Liko wanders into the trees and comes face-to-face with a bunch of wild Pokemon that are angered by her disturbance. They spray her in the face with String Shot as she runs back to Ash. 

It doesn't take long before both trainers are chased down by dozens of wild Pokemon. Liko anxiously looks ahead while Ash can't help but laugh with glee. "Man, this reminds me of my first day with Pikachu! You remember how the Spearows chased us down, don't ya buddy?"

"Pikachu!" Pikachu nodded.

"Do you remember how you stopped them?!" Liko asked in a clear panic.

"Oh yeah!" Ash nodded, "Pikachu, use Thunderbolt!"
