What If Ash was in Pokemon Horizons?

Mission: Find Oinkologne's Partner!

Ash, Liko and Roy tune into a Nidothing livestream, Liko watches anxiously as she knows who's underneath the costume. "Oh, here's a commenter now!" Nidothing declared, "Dear Nidothing, I just caught an Oinkologne and the Pigton Town Multi-Battle tornament is coming up soon and she doesn't wanna team up with anyone. Can you help me out, what's going on with my Oinkologne?"

Nidothing thought for a moment, "Okay! We'll end the stream there cause I'll be sending some representatives over to Pigton Town!"

Nidothing ends the stream and Liko's Rotom Phone begins to vibrate, "You have a call from: Dot"

"You want us to go to Pigton town?!" Liko screamed, Dot, Ash and Roy covering their ears.

"Yeah, Nidothing'll be on my Rotom Phone to capture shots and Quaxly will go with you guys," Dot explained, "It'll be easy."

Liko struggled to breathe, fully in disbelief that Nidothing wants her help. "We'll get this orted out, Dot." Ash spoke for her.

The trainers arrive at Pigton Town, Nidothing capturing various shots of the city. They hear a girl scream and see Dot's Quaxly being ambushed by a fan. "You must be Yuno." Nidothing floated over on the Rotom Phone.

"Yeah, that's me!" Yuno exclaimed, "Oh my Arcues, Nidothing's friends with the World Monarch! And You must be Sprigatito Love!" Yuno eagerly shakes Liko's hand. "This is my Onkologne, Twirly!"

Twirly lets out a sad sound and looks down, "She seems pretty down, but I don't know why." Yuno said.

"I get it, I couldn't understand how Pikachu felt when we first met." Ash explained.

"Same thing when I met Sprigatito." Liko added, "But if you wanna understand your Pokemon's feelings, you hve to show them yours."

Yuno nods, "Twirly, I really wanna battle in the Multi-Battle tornament with you, if we don't I'll be pretty bummed out."

Twirly suddenly gets flustered, the trainers spotting another pig-like Pokemon nearby as Twirly blushes.

"They look pretty similar," Ash pulled out his Rotom Phone.

"Oinkologne, female form. The Hog Pokémon. A type. They tend to be tidy and meticulous, and they give off a floral aroma that soothes other Pokémon."

"Oinkologne, male form. The Hog Pokémon. A Normal type. It exudes a sweet, alluring scent from its tail, make it irresistable to female Pokémon."

Yuno groaned, "No! Of course Twirly fell for Renta's Oinkologne!"

"Who's Renta?" Roy asked.

"Just the worst person ever!" Yuno explained, "He always gets on my nerves ever since we were little! I mean, he's still my friend, but he's so full of himself."

"What do we have here?" A voice said, the trainers look beside the male Oinkologne and see Renta himself. "I must say, World Monarch, I wouldn't waste my time with people like Yuno if I were you."

Yuno sighed, "Look, the Multi-Battle tornament is coming up, and Twirly wants to team up with your Oinkologne."

Renta scoffed, "Really? Even if Twirly's got the endorsement of the World Monarch, Prince is way too good for her."

"Hey, watch it." Ash scolded.

Renta rolled his eyes, "Prince, what do you say?"

Prince turns his head at Twirly before releasing a scent out of its tail to attract various female Pokemon, even Sprigatito pushes against Liko's arms. Twirly gains tears in her eyes and runs off, the trainers running after her.

"Not again..." Ash groaned, recalling a smiliar situation between two Nidoran back when he first became a trainer.

The trainers find Twirly sulking by a fountain, "Y'know what you need?" Nidothing said over the Rotom Phone, "A good ol' makeover, that'll surely catch Prince's eye!"

The trainers give Twirly a wash thanks to Dot's Quaxly and Ash's Quaxly's help. Then Twirly walks with a more proud posture. Liko overhears Yuno muttering about Renta as they work with Twirly. "Y'know, I'm getting the feeling Yuno may wanna be more than friends with Renta." Liko whispered to Roy and Ash.

"Yeah, I'm starting to see it too." Roy added.

"You mean like best friends?" Ash asked.

Liko and Roy turn towards Ash with a deadpan expression. "What?" Ash asked.

"It's nothing," Roy said, "Hey, maybe you can show Twirly some battle poses."

"Good idea!" Ash exclaimed, walking off towards Yuno and Twirly, "Who knew the World Monarch could be so dense?" Roy asked.

Liko giggled, "I can't help but feel bad though, any girl who falls for him is gonna have a hard time."

The trainers meet up with Renta and Prince, "You sure only Twirly wants to partner up? I gota feeling you wanna partner up with me too. I mean, who wouldn't?" Renta remarked.

"No way!" Yuno exclaimed, "Show him, Twirly!"

Twirly pulls off a charming pose, but Prince still turns his head away, much to Twirly's dismay.

"Ha!" Renta laughed "Even Twirly's new walk and pose couldn't win my Prince over!"

"That's enough." Ash stated firmly, "Y'know, Prince would be begging for a partner if he didn;t have that scent. At least Twirly's willing to work for the Pokemon she wants."

Renta looks down in embarrassment and begins to walk off with Prince, only for Dot's Quaxly to step in front of them as a form of challenge.

"Woah!" Nidothing hovers around them on the Rotom Phone. "Looks like things just got interesting!"

The trainers around the area hear Nidothing's voice and walks over. Quaxly begins to break into a dance to draw in a bigger crowd. Ash's Quaxly joins in to gather more trainers as they see the Quaxly belonging to both the World Monarch and Nidothing. Prince looks on as the two Quaxlys steal his attention and he kicks dirt at both of them. Disrupting the show, both Quaxly brush themselves off and continue to dance.

"Hey, play nice." Ash scolded, "Pokemon won't like Prince if he keeps that up, no smell can save a bad attitude."

Twirly tackles Prince in retaliation, causing Renta to shout at Yuno, who shouts back. Twirly ends the argument by releasing a sweet scent of her own to relax everyone. Prince walks up to Twirly, instead she is the one to turn her head away.

"Actually, I think Prince and I would like to partner up with you, Yuno." Renta admitted.

"Well, looks like everything went well." Liko smiled, "I'm happy for you, Yuno."

"Thanks," Yuno replied, "But it only happened cause Renta begged for it."

"Hey, we should get some practice in," Renta suggested, turning to Liko and Roy. "You guys mind sparring with us?"

"Us?" Roy asked.

"Yeah, we have no chance against the World Monarch." Yuno added, "I wanna have some chance of winning."

Liko and Roy share a look before nodding, "Alright, deal!"

Prince begins the battle with Double Edge aimed at Sprigatito that is evaded. Fuecoco fires off an Ember that Twirly blocks with Mud Slap. Sprigatito unleashes a Leafage that twirly dodges by mimicking the dance moves she saw from Ash and Dot's Quaxlys, Twirly then uses Body Slam on Fuecoco. Sprigatito and Fuecoco charge towards both Oinkologne with Tackle and Quick Attack as Prince uses Work Up. Prince avoids both attacks with Dig and returns above ground to strike both Sprigatito. Sprigatito and Fuecoco blow their opponents back with Leafage and Stomping Tantrum and both Oinkologne use Double Edge.

The trainers watch from aboard the Brave Olivine a live video broadcast of Yuno and Renta winning the tornament, knocking out a Mamoswine with Double Edge. The trainers watch proudly as Yuno and Renta are interviewed and state their victory was thanks to Nidothing, Sprigatito Love and the World Monarch.

Dot oversees the comments of her livestream, her face quickly becoming red as she exclaims, "Great, now all my viewers think I'm some sort of matchmaker!"
