What If Ash was in Pokemon Horizons?

The three trainers look over at the state of the forest below them as Arboliva places the trainers on the ground next to Mollie. "Arboliva uses its nutrients to heal injured Pokémon like a doctor." She explained, "But, with the forest being so badly damaged, there's only so much it can do. Which will inevitably lead to more Pokémon ending up like that Paldean Wooper."

"Then we should help out!" Liko declared, "Let's help Arboliva replant the forest."

"Good idea, Liko!" Ash praised, "If we all work together, we should be able to get it done."

Liko and Mollie begin gathering Berries as Fuecoco uses Stomping Tantrum to plow the soil. Pikachu uses Iron Tail to pry out any dead trees as Ash and Roy clears out rocks and parts of burnt-down trees. Mollie plants the Berries and Ash's Quaxly waters then with Water Gun, only small stems sprout out of the ground. Liko suddenly hears her Rotom Phone ring. "You have a call from: Friede."

After a call explaining the situation, Friede, Orla and Ludlow arrive at the forest. "So, how's replanting the forest going?" Friede asked.

"We've planted everything, but Quaxly's Water Gun doesn't seem to grow water the soil." Ash explained.

Friede smiled, "Exactly why I brought Ludlow."

Ludlow pulls out a Dive Ball and releases his own Quagsire. The Pokemon uses Rain Dance to help water the soil and boost Ash's Quaxly's Water Gun. Arboliva uses Seed Sower to accelerate the growth of the Berries that transforms into huge trees that attracts the Pokemon that fled from the fires back to their home.

Liko's pendant begins to glow and transforms into a Pokemon with a pendant-shaped shell. "Woah, Liko isn't that the Pokemon we saw at Indigo Academy?" Ash asked.

"Yeah, it is." Liko answered.

The pendant-Pokemon creates a giant dome of light that engulfs Ash, Liko and Roy. The trainers look around the dome as a shadowy figure appears on the other side, they can barely make out the person's words before the dome dissappears and the Pokemon transforms back into a pendant.

Arboliva then recalls itself back into its Ancient Poke Ball and the ball falls to the ground. Friede picks it up, "I think the three of you got through to Arboliva and now it wants to come with us." he theorized, "Can you three look after this?"

The trainers nod and Friede places the Ancient Poke Ball in Liko's hands. The Rising Volt Tacklers head back to the Brave Olivine as the three children gather in Roy's room and Liko hands him some picture books her dad gave him.

Roy flips through the pages, "Wait, the story about the ancient adventurer is the same story my grandpa told me!" he declared.

Ash and Liko lean in as Roy begins to read out the story, "A hundred years ago, there was an adventurer who, accompanied by the Black Rayquaza, befriended five strong Pokémon. Together, the adventurer and these six Pokemon traveled from region to region, until they found a place simply called "paradise." The man, with his Pokémon friends, had gone on to settle down and live there, becoming forever known as the 'ancient adventurer.'"

"Sounds like Arboliva is one of those five strong Pokemon." Ash theorized, "Which means there could be four more Ancient Poke Balls out there!"

Liko thought for a moment, "Dad told me his stories were always inspired by my grandma's travels, but he just assumed they weren't real."

"Well they gotta be real!" Roy exclaimed, "We saw the Black Rayquaza and now we've got an Arboliva!"

Later on, the Rising Volt Tacklers gather in the meeting room to discuss the next steps. "Okay, so it looks like the Arboliva is connected to the Black Rayquaza." Friede recounted before turning to the children, "You guys got any ideas on what to do next."

"Turns out my Dad wrote about the story of the trainer that belonged to both of them." Liko explained, "He got the stories from my grandma so I think we should go visit her."

"That means we could also find out more about the Ancient Poke Balls an the Ancient Adventurer!" Roy added.

"There's just one problem," Liko admitted, "She travels the world, so I don't know where she is right now."

"Then, I think we're in luck." Friede smirked, "Some evidence I found suggests she's currently in Galar. So, all in favor of heading to the Galar Region?"

Every member of the Rising Volt Tacklers raised their hands, Friede smirked, "Then it's settled, we're heading to Galar!"

"Hey Ash, didn't you become the World Monarch in Galar?" Roy asked.

"Yeah, it is!" Ash said proudly, "Why do you ask?"

"Aren't you gonna be swarmed by fans when we get there?" Liko asked, "It could interrupt the mission."

"Oh yeah, you're right." Ash realized, "But, don't worry I won't draw any attention to us!"
