What If Ash was in Pokemon Horizons?

Fuecoco... Becomes a Crook?!

The Rising Volt Tacklers meet in the meeting room. "I just got a job offer from a friend of mine. He's an archaeologist that just needs us to remove a rock." Friede explains, "The pay's good."

The adults perk up at the mention of the high payment, quickly agreeing to take on the job.

Friede, Ash, Liko and Roy arrive at the excavation site, Murdock having given the trainers and Pokemon sunglasses to deal with the harsh sunlight. They wait for the go-ahead call from Friede's friend alongside the crew. An alarm suddenly sounds off in the area and the crew starts to panic. "Oh no, they're back!"

Friede perked up as the crew scrambles around, "Y'know maybe we could earn a little extra pay if we head inside the ruins and figure out what's going on."

"Makes sense to me." Ash responded.

The group enters the ruins, Friede observes marking around, "Looks like traces of the Krookodile family." he mused.

"Krookodile?" Ash asked, pulling out his Rotom Phone and making a transfer. "I think I know just who can help." Pulling out a Poke Ball and revealing his own Krookodile.

Cap hears something and runs off, Friede and Liko following after him. Fuecoco sees eyes poking out from the sand below them, catching Ash and Roy's attention. The eyes reveal themselves to be a Sandile as it bursts out of the ground. Ash and Roy chase it before the Sandile burrows away to escape. The hole quickly turns into a sinkhole and sucks both the boys and Pokemon inside.

The boys land in some sort of nest, spotting a Krookodile with feminine eyelashes alongside a Krokorok. They pick up a pack of newly-hatched Sandile and create a beat with their tails to calm down the crying babies. Ash and his Krookodile watch in awe as Roy and Fuecoco sing along, exposing them to the family. The Krokorok prepares to attack the intruders, but Ash's Krookodile stands in the way to protect them.

"Krookodile, quick!" Ash said, "Tell them we don't wanna hurt them!"

Ash's Krookodile speaks to the Kokorok, ensuring him they mean no harm. The mother Krookodile notices the baby Sandlie have calmed down thanks to Roy and Fuecoco.

After some time, Liko, Cap and Friede fall down the sinkhole into the nest. Seeing Ash, Roy and Fuecoco wearing their sunglasses. Fuecoco eagerly looking up to Ash's Krookodile and its sunglasses. The group work with the mother Krookodile and father Krokorok to calm the Sandie down with a mighty musical performance.

"Looks like you've made some friends." Friede remarked.

"Yeah, and the crew has no reason to be scared of them." Roy said with a surprisingly serious tone. "They're just trying to protect their home."

"What do you mean?" Liko asked.

The roof of the nest suddenly begins to crumble, "The excavation crew's starting again." Ash said with a bit of anxiety in his voice. 

The mother Krookodile and the father Krokorok leave the nest to stop the crew, "We should go help them." Ash suggested, his own Krookodile exiting the nest to help out. The trainers follow behind it.

The trainers return to the excavation site to see the mother Krookodile and father Krokorok attacking the machinery in a blind rage.

"Stop them, Fuecoco!" Roy said.

"You too, Krookodile!" Ash added.

Fuecoco charges towards them with Tackle while Krookodile burrows underground with Dig. Fuecoco is sent flying by the mother Krookodile's tail. Ash's Krookodile tries to reach out to them, only to be blasted back with Round.

Ash's Krookodile falls to the ground, its sunglasses falling off, it quickly picks them up to avoid embarrassment. Giving Fuecoco an idea, it puts on its own sunglasses. The baby Sandile appearing at the site to support it. Ash's Krookodile starts banging its tail to create a beat as Roy realizes what's going on. "Go for it, Fuecoco!"

Fuecoco lets out a loud shout, pink music notes strike the Krookodile and Krokorok parents. The trainers recognize the move as Disarming Voice. Everyone lets out a sigh as the conflict ends, Roy picking up Fuecoco as a reward for learning a new move.

"We don't have to fight." Ash approached the Krookodile family.

Liko eagerly runs up next to him, "Maybe you can help destroy the rock, that way the crew won't bother you anymore!"

The Krookodile and Krokorok nod and destroy the rock with Round. "Well, there goes our pay." Friede remarked.

"Maybe, but Roy and Fuecoco got something more." Ash said.

"Yeah, you've got a point." Friede smiled, seeing Roy and Fuecoco bond with the Krookodile family while Ash recalls his own Krookodile to send him back to Oak's lab.
