Rani rushed into the Tree of Life and hastily bowed in front of her grandmother. The Lion Guard was hot on her trail and entered right after her.

Janna: Rani, why are you so disturbed?

Rani: Grandmother, the Lion Guard lead an army of predators here!

Bunga: What! How are 3 predators an army?

Rani rolled her eyes.

Rani: But we should have never allowed them entrance. Now the enter tree is endangered!

Fuli: Your Majesties, we do sincerely apologize. However, we had no idea that they were trailing us here.

Janna: I doubt they will leave now that they found the Tree of Life.

Fuli: Your majesty, please allow us to defend the Tree of Life alongside the Night Pride. We have been battling these types of foes for years and have much experience.

Janna: That doesn't sound like a bad idea. What do you think Rani?

Rani: Fine. But prove your worthy to help us and make sure you follow my orders.

Bunga: Ok chill. You got us to help you now, just tell us where you need us.

Janna: Then that's settled. Night Pride, you should go get some rest.

Night Pride: Yes Queen Janna.

The Night Pride and Lion Guard exited the Tree of Life. However, as soon as they exited, Ullu came flying over to notify both guards of the impending danger.

Ullu: Hoohoo! Night Pride! Lion Guard!

Rani: Ullu what's wrong?

Ullu: Makucha, Ora, and Chuluun and chasing an elderly animal through the mountain pass and towards the Tree of Life.

Rani: Ok thanks Ullu. Let's go Night Pride and Lion Guard!

The guards ran to the mountain pass and spotted that the three predators had the elderly animal cornered. However, none of them could recognize the elderly animal as she was very rare and had never been seen before.

???: No! Please get away from me! I am just a weak little old lady!

Ora: My favorite! KKKKKKKK!  Ora bared his fangs while drooling.

Makucha: Ora! It's pretend remember.  Makucha whispered so no one could hear.

Ora: Oh right!

Rani: Stop right there! Leave that animal alone!

Makucha: Why should we?

Rani: Because I said so.

Makucha: Sounds like fighting words to me.

Rani:  If that's what you want. Night Pride, Lion Guard together!

Both guards jumped down and started to battle the three villains. The battle was short and decisive with the villains retreating after their loss.

Makucha: Fine, you win this time Night Pride and Lion Guard!

Rani: And the next; Count on it!

??? Oh, thank you so much! What would those animals do with a poor old lady like me?

Rani: It doesn't matter, their gone now. You'll be safe at the Tree of Life.

Bunga had a weird feeling about the old animal but just could place her. He was sure that he had seen someone like her before.

The Night Pride and Lion Guard were walking to the Tree of Life to introduce the new animal to Queen Janna when they came across another honey badger. As soons as Bunga laid eyes on her, he blushed uncontrollably.

Baliyo: Hey Binga! How are you?

Binga: Good Baliyo thank you! Hi everyone, who are you?

Fuli: We're the Lion Guard.

Beshte: Please to meet you Binga.

Binga: Pleased to meet you too Lion G-

Binga stopped abruptly when she laid eyes on Bunga, and she suddenly felt nervous and unsteady.

Bunga: H-Hi. My n-name is Bunga.

Binga: Hey B-Bunga, I am Binga.

Anga: Hey Bunga, why don't you and Binga go hang out somewhere for the day?

Binga: That sounds great! Let's go Bunga!

Bunga: Ok sure. That's sounds like fun! But just give me a se-

Binga wasted no time and pulled Bunga along as they meandered toward the marsh.

Fuli: Ok now back on topic, let's introduce the new animal to Queen Janna.

The Night Pride and Lion Guard entered the Tree of Life to find Queen Janna fast asleep.

Makini emerged from behind the vines and greeted them.

Makini: Hello Night Pride and Lion Guard!

The sudden sound made the elderly queen wake up. Makini felt very guilty about waking the queen.

Makini: Oh, I sincerely apologize your majesty! I didn't mean to wake you up from your sleep!

Janna: It's ok Makini. Hello Rani, what guest have you brought with you?

Rani: We found this elderly animal that was alone and was being chased by the predators lurking outside the mountain pass. We saved her and found that she had an injured leg and thus we brought her here so she could be healed.

Janna: Greetings traveler. I am Janna, Queen of the Tree of Life.

???: Nice to meet you, Queen Janna. I also heard that this was a place of healing, and you could possibly heal my injured leg?

Janna: Of course we can. We will heal your leg tomorrow, but for right now, go and rest.

???: Yes, your majesty.

Janna: And Rani please show our guest to a place where she can rest.

Rani: Of course grandmother.

The Night Pride and Lion Guard exited the tree and Rani showed her guest to a spot where she could rest.

???: Thank you very much Rani.

Rani: You're welcome, uh don't mean to be rude but what type of animal are you?

???: I am a Ginterbong. So, you can just call me Granny Ginterbong.

Rani: Ok Granny Ginterbong, have a good rest.

Ginterbong: Oh no, thank you!  Ginterbong bade farewell with a sinister smile on her vintage.

Rani returned to the guards and the Night Pride went off to rest.

Rani: Night Pride let's go rest. We don't know when those predators will attack again.

The Lion Guard had a great idea for the Night Pride that would benefit both guards.

Fuli: Hey Rani.

Rani: Yes Fuli?

Fuli: Before you and the Night Pride take your daily rest, we would like to share an idea with you that may benefit you.

Rani: Go on.

Fuli: So, if you want, the Lion Guard could patrol during the day while you and the Night Pride rest, and-

Rani: The Night Pride could patrol during the night. That's a phenomenal idea Fuli! Thank you very much for taking on this duty.

Fuli: Our pleasure Rani. Lion Guard let's move out!

The Lion Guard went on their day patrol while the Night Pride went off to rest. All seemed normal in the Tree of Life territory, but little did both guards know that there was a spy they welcomed. The Tree was in grave danger if the spy isn't uncovered and expelled. Kion was also still at Cihka Escarpment training his roar, unknown to him that he is right in the Tree of Life territory and that his destiny was about to change forever...
