The Lion Guard and the Night Pride entered the Tree of Life and saw the queen sleeping peacefully upon her rock.

Though reluctant, the guards woke her and explained the situation that had just occurred.

Rani: Hello, G-Grandmother?  Rani was still trembling at the sight of her parents' murderers.

Janna: Yes Rani?  Janna smiled at the sight Rani's head under Kion's.

Baliyo: We saw the villains at the mountain pass and all of them were familiar, especially 3 such ones.

Janna: Explain further.

Bunga: The old villains that Kion roared away from the Tree of Life the first time have returned.

Fuli: In addition, Scar has been resurrected from the dead.

The queen's face went from curious to shocked and tensed.

Janna: Scar?! How is that possible?!

Kion: Scar's minions managed, to somehow defeat Rafiki. He was the royal majuzi of my father, King Simba of the Pridelands. He had great skills and possessed great power.

Janna started to generate tears in her eyes and started lightly sobbing.

Janna: My old friend has completed his journey in the Circle of Life. After his whole life, he doesn't deserve this end.

Kion: You knew Rafiki?

Janna: Of course! He was the one that introduced Makini into the Circle of Life! He was a great animal! Very wise and kind indeed.

Everyone took a moment of silence to honor their old friend.

Janna: Back to the topic of Scar. Whom else did you see at the mountain pass?

Nirmala was reluctant to explain, but after an acknowledging look from Surak, she continued.

Nirmala: We identified two particular lions as the murderers of Sahasi and Ananda.

Janna's visage grew pale and tears swelled up her eyes and flooded her face.

Rani and Baliyo also collapsed, tears flowing freely from theirs eyes. Baliyo leaned on his uncle Surak while Rani was being held up by Kion.

The Lion Guard even started letting loose tears of sympathy.  Janna finally decided to speak.

Janna: Cheka and Uovu.

Rani: Huh???

Janna: Rani and Baliyo, I think that it's time you knew the truth behind your grandfather. I have never told you about him.

Baliyo: Yes grandmother?

Rani was still hesitant, but after earning a slight nod from Kion, she gives in.

Rani: Yes?

Janna: Your grandfather's name was Atma. He was my mate and king of the Tree of Life. He was a great lion and was caring, loving, and wise. I loved him very much as he was the father of Sahasi and Surak. However, one day he was--

Janna trailed off suddenly and tears swelled up in her eyes once more.

Janna: He was murdered by the same two lions, named Cheka and Uovu. He was assassinated one night while on his way to the watering hole. I was devastated that the love of my life was gone and that Sahasi and Surak would have to grow up without know much of their father.

Fuli: We are so sorry your majesty. We had absolutely no idea that you and your family had suffered so much!

Janna: It is ok Fuli. You have come here and that is the only thing that matters. However, we must think of a way to defeat Scar and Cheka and Uovu and to prevent them from taking over the tree.

Kion: Scar also possesses a great power and when I used my roar against him, it had no effect on him. He stood there unphased and he also redirected the roar at me. In addition, he also disappeared out of thin air! He got some type of powers that makes him almost a god.

Janna: This is a very serious matter, Kion. I must think of how he got these powers. For right now, go and get some rest for you earned it. In the morning I will talk to you and hopefully find the answer to your questions.

Kion: Thank you, your majesty.

The Lion Guard and Night Pride exited the Tree of Life. The Night Pride went on their night patrol and the Lion Guard went to rest.

However, what Janna didn't realize is that she wouldn't see Kion in the morning...
