Queen Janna's funeral took place the day following her death. All inhabitants of the Tree of Life attended, and all were extremely sad. They were crying, holding their heads down, and praying for the deceased queen.
After all flowers were placed upon the deceased queen's burial site, Rani gave a farewell speech.
Rani: She was perhaps the wisest animal that had ever lived. She always knew what to do or what to say. She was extremely just and kind. She was more than a grandmother to me and was a grandmother to all of us. May she always rest in peace. She will be missed.
After the speech, Rani stepped down and stood in between Kion and Baliyo, while resting her head under Kion's, for which he contently accepted.
All attendees then stood there for a few moments of silence in honor of their queen and leader.
Soon after, all animals lined up and took turns walking up to the grave and touching it with their paw, wing, or claw in a form of respect, honor, and a final goodbye.
When all animals were done, the Lion Guard and Night Pride lined up and the procession continued. However, when Rani came to it, she almost broke down in tears if it weren't for Kion and Baliyo who supported her while she performed her final goodbye.
When Kion approached the tomb subsequently, he closed his eyes and faced the heavens.
Kion: You will never be forgotten sweet queen. I know you will watch over us forevermore. Please take care of us, especially Rani. You will be missed by all.
After the ceremony and the burial of Queen Janna's lifeless body, all animals turned to exit. The Night Pride and Lion Guard prepared for the coronation ceremony for Rani, which would be held at sundown, just as the traditions go.
Whilst the two guards were leaving, Kion noticed a certain lioness sitting alone on the edge of a hill. He knew that lioness off the top of his head. Kion approached her and sat next to her.
Kion: How are you?
Rani: I'm fine, I guess.
Kion: You know she loved you.
Rani: Yes. She was the wisest and kindest person I've ever met. She always knew what to say and do. For example, if she never insisted, I would've never met you or even attempted to find you. But I'm glad she did.
Kion: I'm glad she did too.
Rani tugged a smile at the corner of her lips and then sighed again.
Rani: Hard to believe that she's gone. It reminds me of my parents. I just don't know if I'm ready to become queen.
Kion: Rani, if your grandmother didn't trust you, she wouldn't have asked you.
Rani: What do you mean?
Kion: Queen Janna didn't choose you to become queen just because you were her first born grandcub, but because of you yourself. You're a kind, selfless, beautiful, and wise lioness. You are ready, and she knows that you have been for a very long time.
Rani was at the edge of tears from Kion's words, and she smiled profusely.
Kion: Always remember, even though she passed away, she will always be with you, just like your parents and grandfather. If you ever need guidance, she is always available. You are ready to become queen. Trust your grandmother.
Rani nodded in agreement and then her countenance turned more determined.
Rani: I will. Thank you again Kion.
Kion smiled.
Kion: Anytime Queen Rani.
Rani laughed at the use of the title.
