It was a stray cat, with shiny black fur. The chubbiness of the animal made [Name] think that the people in the park or the streets always fed it with some kind of cat food. If it weren't for the cats medal like blue eyes, they wouldn't notice the black cat this easily. After staring at it for a good minute, it didn't seem like the stray would go away any time. [Name] sighed as they put the notebook and pen away in their bag, and bent down to the cat.

"I'm sorry, buddy, but I haven't got any type of food on me." they mumbled as they petted the cat. "....You have very pretty eyes."

[Name] was mesmerized by how the cat sat silently and stared at them. It was like it knew they didn't have anything they could give, but it still stayed for absolute no reason at all. It made [Name] to calm down... until the animal's eyes shifted to a person behind [Name]. 'What the...?' They freezed in place when they heard someone open a can of cat food behind them.

"Would you mind if I sit next to you, kid?" a man with deep voice asked. [Name] awkwardly nodded as they didn't know what else to do in a situation like this. 'It's already late to move to another bench unsuspiciously. Why am I so dumb?' [Name] was too scared to look at the man.

The person next to them bent down, and placed the can of cat food on the ground, then waited for the stray to start eating.

[Name] observed the man from the corner of their eyes. The green yukata, his silver hair - what probably wasn't from aging -, his blue eyes seemed familiar... too familiar. 'Where have I seen this dude before?' they wondered as they focused more on the man. [Name] noticed more details about his appearance, wich made them feel more like they knew him from somewhere.

"Is there a problem, kid?" the familiar man asked after a long silence. He probably noticed how [Name] was observing him. The sudden question caught [Name] off guard, and because of that, only a shaky answer came out of their throat.

"N-nothing, sir..." they replied. The social anxiety couldn't hit them harder at any time more than this moment. The man looked at them like he doesn't believe a single word they said. He turned his head towards the cat, and watched as it ate.

After a bit of a silence, the man spoke again.

"What is a kid like you doing in the park at this time? It is already dark."

While debating wether to trust this man and answer, [Name] noticed a katana attached to the man's waist. 'Is that a katana?' A strike of realization hit them as they saw the weapon, they suddenly remembered something. 'Didn't his name start with an F? What was it... Fuki... Fuku...Fukuta... Fukuza... I can't remember, but I'm sure I know him from somewhere!' They realized that they have been quiet for too long, so they replied:

"I'm just... uh... clearing my mind. A weird amount of strange things happened to me recently..."

They started to fidget with their fingers as they couldn'it decide whether it was a good thing to have a conversation with this man. Another name popped up in their mind. 'Is his name Fukuzawa?... It is. Fukuzawa Yukichi. Where do I know him from?'

"Are you listening, kid?"

"I'm sorry, I zoned out... Can you please repeat what you've said before?"

"I asked what type of 'strange things' happened to you?"

[Name] gathered their thoughts, as they didn't want to be seen as too messy, or doesn't worth taking them seriously.

"The first thing is, that I no longer find any happiness if I get a good grade." the man raised an eyebrow as they said this. "I feel like it doesn't belong to me... but I know I studied a lot for these tests. It might not be a huge problem, or something strange, but as far as I can remember, I was always very happy if I've got an A. But now... it's like a sudden change in my mindset."

Fukuzawa stayed in silence.

"The other thing is that I had a dream that haunted me all day."

The man was seemingly lost in thought. They couldn't guess what was in Fukuzawa's mind, but [Name] hoped that he doesn't want to send them to the psych ward.

"May I ask, why do you think it haunts you? Do you think there's something behind it?"

"It felt too real." they replied, "Like if it happened in the past. Like it was a memory." they sighed, "And since then, everything feels weird. I have a lot of deja vu, I also have a feeling... a feeling that it's not my own life I'm living, but someone's else. I don't know how to explain it, but this whole new emotion is very irritating"

Fukuzawa looked at them slightly confused. He never felt like they don't belong in this world, so he never experienced this type of feeling. He didn't know what they meant by that, but even [Name] only had a small explanation of why they think that.

Just as Fukuzawa was about to speak, [Name] cut him off.

"And I know you from somewhere, Fukuzawa-san, the president of the Detective Agency. But I have no idea how we met, or even if we met before."

"How did you..." just as he was about to finish the sentence, he remained silent for a moment. "This situation you are in is sure interesting."

His phone beeped. Fukuzawa quickly took it out and glanced at the text. [Name] looked at the phone from the corner of their eyes, full of curiosity.

Doppo Kunikida:
President! The Black Lizard caused a mess in the office, again.

'Black Lizard... another familiar name. Oh lord, is it some kind of punishment, that I can't remember?' they thought as they read the text once again. 'Doppo Kunikida... I have no clue who he is. Maybe I'll remember him later. He's probably not that important for now.'

"I'm sorry, kid, but I have to go." Fukuzawa said with a hint of uncertainty in his voice, that was caused by the sudden confession of [Name] they did earlier, "There's a problem in my workplace."

He stood up, and petted the cat one last time.

"But before I officially leave," he pulled out a business card and handed it to [Name]. "You grabbed my attention with your story. If you feel enough confident, call us, and we'll try to help you."

"Thank you, sir."

As the man left, [Name] took a closer look on the card. 'It wouldn't be a problem if I memorize the number... I wonder when will I need call them. It could be tomorrow, but even a year later too.'

They put away business card. [Name] sighed, and looked at the time on their phone. 'It's getting late. If I don't want to get caught by my parents, I should head home.' Just as they packed their stuff and was ready to go home, a sudden thought crossed their mind. 'Was it really a good idea, to tell that man about all of those stuff? Probably. My guts tell me I should trust him. No... I should trust the whole Armed detective Agency.'
