A cup of coffee, a strange mobile and an eager child on your side. A wonderful way to start a Monday morning, am I right?
Fukuzawa dealt with the same dilemma. Both him and [Name] leaned over the phone on the table as they sat on chairs, unaware how this was dropped from the nowhere, and most importantly, why. The president glanced at the kid, who was nervously shaking their leg at an unnatural speed. He cleared his throat.
"I think we should check what's in it. You said you knew the password...?"
[Name] nodded and grabbed the device, which was suspiciously warm, even though it hasn't been turned on yet in a long time, and no one touched it ever since Kenji and [Name] returned from the case. The kid unlocked the phone just as effortlessly as the first time, back at the complex. They walked beside Fukuzawa and placed it infront of them, so that both of them could normally see what is going on.
The mobile needed some time to load all the apps. It probably wasn't turned on properly for god knows how much time. [Name] swiped on the home screen, but it took the device a moment to comprehend the movement, but after a few seconds it regained its smoothness in terms of loading.
[Name] opened the messages app with shaky hands. Several contacts popped up right away, but on top of the chats, there was a group.
"This is...." the kid mumbled. "...my family group chat. This phone... was definitely mine. I mean, mine at the other universe. Gosh, thinking about this makes my head hurt."
"Do you need medicine for the headache, or you can bear it?"
"It's fine."
Fukuzawa examined the phone closer. It explained a lot of things. But... something was still left without an answer. The man thought about it for a moment before actually asking it out loud.
"I wonder... If you can search up our universe with this."
There was an unsaid part of the sentence which still bugged him, but he was afraid it might give ideas to the kid.
[Name] closed the app, and went on to hunt for a search engine instead. They opened google, and before typing in anything at the search bar, both the kid and Fukuzawa took a glance at the history.
'Google translator, No Longer Human pdf, Wattpad... and bsd wiki.'
They had a slight idea what the latter might have been, but none of them liked that concept.
[Name] took the phone in their hands. Fukuzawa could see how much their hands were trembling, their grip tightening around the device and a cold sweat running down their forehead. He was about to say something, when,
"I'm scared." the kid whispered. "I'm not sure it's safe to do this."
Fukuzawa looked up to their distressed face.
"Don't be. You are not alone, you know? Even if something happens, I am here."
[Name] took a deep breath as they started typing something into the search bar, and when they were only at the half of the sentence, when the Related Searches finished it in almost an instant. Some links were already purple, which indicated it had been opened before. The kid clicked on the topmost site, which they came across.
The mobile's sudden electrick shock made [Name] drop the phone on the table in an instant.
Fukuzawa stood up from his chair so fast, it took the kid a moment to realize he was already examining the bruise on their hand left by the mobile. Luckily, there were no blisters, but that part of the skin, which was struckt, was red enough to be concerning.
