[Name] stayed over at Yosano's place for the night. It wasn't so comfortable sleeping on a hard mattress, but it was still better than being left alone in their own house.

Both of them were already walking towards the office.

Yosano tried to start a conversation with basic questions like "How is school?" and "What are your hobbies?", however, the kid only answered with either a simple yes, no or a short answer, which only made the atmosphere more uncomfortable. Not like [Name] wanted it to be like that way, but their brain couldn't generate an answer with more well put together words and sentences. They knew they are smarter than this, but they blamed it on having to wake up early in the morning.

Yosano had a great idea to get [Name] out of the monotonous answering.

"It was pretty dumb of you to pull out the dagger when that dude stabbed you."

"Hey!" the kid looked at the woman with an angry look, but Yosano couldn't take them seriously. "I am not that dumb!"

Yosano chuckled at their reaction. [Name] smiled at the woman after they realized that the atmosphere didn't feel like a family reunion anymore due to the funny remark. [Name]'s chest became lighter by the pure laugh of the woman.

"Why though?" they asked with curiousity in their eyes.

"You can cause more damage if you pull it out yourself instead of an actual doctor." Yosano was about to go into further details, but when she wanted to open her mouth again, they arrived to the agency.

Fukuzawa stepped into the office, and the sight infront of him didn't dissapoint: the usual shit went on, except for the plus one person in the office.

[Name] and Atsushi sat in one of the booths - Fukuzawa assumed Atsushi had no work to do at the moment, so he didn't say a thing about it. However, on the other side of the room, Kunikida was scolding, hitting and strangling Dazai, due to him not doing any of his work which was assigned to him. Kenji was the only one along with Tanizaki who were typing on their computers, most likely writing a document about their most recent case. Ranpo spun on his chair in his boredom while chewing on a piece of candy.

The president didn't see Yosano, so he concluded that she was in the infirmary along with Kyouka.

The man walked up to the child and the weretiger. Why? Atushi looked like his head was about to explode and he tried to keep it in place. He had his ears covered by his hands and his knees up to his chest along with a traumatized expression on his face. Meanwhile, [Name] seemed to talk passionately about a topic, but Fukuzawa couldn't hear anything from it, so he went closer.

"....it was like a really soggy watermelon. Can you imagine how scarring would that be?" the kid looked at Atsushi. "Well, not for me, because I am a different breed."

"What is going on here?" Fukuzawa stepped into the booth.

"Oh, nothing. Just the weretiger asked me to talk about myself, so I told him about my parents."

Fukuzawa's eyes switched from [Name] to Atushi, then back to [Name].

"Then what's the matter with him?" the man pointed at the boy.

"They have been telling me about their mother...." Atsushi began, "And how they ripped off her head.... In heavy details."

Fukuzawa sighed, then called [Name] out of the booth.

"I don't recommend talking about those. Even if it didn't affect you, it might cause some problems for some people." he glanced at [Name]. "You might also come off as mentally unstable or a psychopath while talking about your deceased parents like that."

The kid nodded. They suddenly stopped on their tracks.

"That reminds me," they waited until the president turned to them. "shouldn't I have a legal guardian or something? Since my parents, you know, are dead."

"So they need someone to adopt them?" Tanizaki asked.

Fukuzawa settled up a mini meeting in the middle of their work. All of the detectives sat silently in the room, thinking about their decision thoroughly.

[Name] stood next to Fukuzawa. All this fuss around them made them feel uncomfortable. They thought about how all of the detectives were dragged into this office, only to talk about a shitty child's adoption. It wasn't that important to anyone, but Fukuzawa insisted to let [Name] have atleast a legal guardian.

Not like the kid really needed someone to take care of them, it's just that Fukuzawa didn't want any problem with them not having any adult to be their legal guardian on paper.

"I would like to ask you, to think about whether you are able to play the role of a parent. I am speaking to the elders. Kenji and Kyouka are an absolute no." Fukuzawa stated with a straight face. [Name] could swear they saw a wave of sadness on Kenji's face for a moment.

[Name] stood there awkwardly, as they wanted to speak up, that they don't really need a foster parent, but were too scared to. Fukuzawa would decline anyways. 'Such a fuss for me...'

Kunikida thought about it for a minute. He raised his arm to let the president know, he would take this task. Yosano, on the other hand, pulled the man's arm back down.

"Don't even think about it. That child is going to be under dictatorship if you adopt them."

Everyone sat silently. No one seemed to be wanting to take care of an almost teenager, and [Name] could understand that. They don't know how it feels to be forced to adopt a kid who you only knew for about a day, but they could imagine how uncomfortable it might be. And let's be real, all of us know they wouldn't be able to take care of another human being, and they were aware of that.

Fukuzawa looked around the room once more time, debating whether Ranpo is a good choice. He sighed.

"Well," the president stood up. "if no one will take the responsibility for them, then I'll have to choose someone."

Everyone froze for a moment.

"I am already sorry for [Name]." Ranpo said.

"Who is that person?" Tanizaki came back from the shock.

"That person is me."

Another wave of shock struck around the room. 'If I could survive Ranpo for more than 10 years, this kid shouldn't be that much of a problem.' he thought. Of course he won't say that out loud, no matter how much he wanted to.

"Are you sure about this, president?" Kunikida asked with a huge amount of concern on his face. "I am pretty sure taking care of a child is very hard, and you are also very busy as the boss-"

"I have already decided. You can go now."

He wouldn't have even admitted it to himself, but he looked forward to playing the role of a father to [Name]. 'They probably aren't as problematic as Ranpo was when he was 14... Right?'

Hey guys

What I wanna say is that I'm working on a bsd chatfic and a Dazai x reader, and I wanna ask, whether it seems interesting enough to get published? Just asking for some kind of feedback about these two stories, bc I'm still skeptical whether I should publish those

Have a great day/night!!^^
