After accepting the offer, [Name] thought it would be over in a couple of hours, but they least expected their part of the deal to just start tomorrow, which meant, it can possibly take days.
[Name] sat on a couch in Chuuya's room, staring at the random wine bottles on the table. Their bag lay on the ground next to their leg, almost completely emptied out. Their one change of clothes were the ones that remained in the bag, but their food and water bottle was by Chuuya's wine on the small table.
Mori made the ginger responsible to look after them.
[Name] recalled the exact words the man said after it was official that the kid accepted the deal."Chuuya-kun is already aware of the situation and he played a big role in a part of it. It will be better if he is the one who takes care of you for this time period. I don't want other people to get involved in our little business."
This being said, the ginger had no other choice but do as he ordered.
The kid waited for Chuuya. Even if the meeting with Mori was over, the man still had work to do as an executive, so he left [Name] at his place. The kid patted their pocket, where their phone was supposed to be. The pocket felt extremely flat, but [Name] wasn't surprised. It was a part of the deal, of course. [Name] sighed as they remembered the moment they had to hand the device to Mori. 'This way I can't contact anyone... He really doesn't want me to fuck up his plan, huh?'
They pulled their legs up to their chest while thinking about Fukuzawa. [Name] didn't specify when they are going home, but it was getting suspiciously late. He might start being worried. He might have already tried to reach out to them unsuccessfully. Maybe he wanted to ask innocent questions like 'How's it going?', 'Are you having fun?' or even 'When do you want me to pick you up? You shouldn't wander on the streets alone at night, it can be quite dangerous.' through their phone.
They are just causing even more problem with this.
They were worried. The realization of making bad decisions struck them twice today. [Name] was disappointed in themselves. They were physically ready for anything crazy task Mori is about to give them, but they still felt unprepared for their mission mentally. Anything but this...
Chuuya stepped in the room and slammed the door behind him. He took off his coat and placed it on the hanger. The man slightly flinched when he noticed [Name] looking at him, but then brushed it off.
"You scared the living shit out of me. I still have to get used to you hanging around at my place." he murmured.
"Sorry about that."
Chuuya got himself a bottle of water, then leaned against the table.
"No witty remark? Not calling me a scaredy cat or something?" he raised his eyebrows, as it was not something he would expect from them.
"Nah. It's just a waste of time to pick at a leprechaun."
"Yeah, that's something I would definitely hear from you." Chuuya mumbled, trying to ignore the leprichaun part.
The kid lay their back on the couch, intensively staring at the ceiling.
Chuuya was expecting for something to happen, like they would just burst out the dumbest insult he could hear following with a never ending speech about a random subject, but it never happened. The kid was seemingly too deep in thought to even utter a word.
"You better get prepared for tomorrow." He spoke up.
"Huh?"
"That group we are dealing with," Chuuya sat on a chair, crossed his legs and looked at [Name]. "is pretty hard to catch, y'now? Those people always slipped out of Akutagawa's and my hands. No one from the mafia could get even close to the head of that group. But... with what the boss have planned... it is possible. But only if you are the one who help. There is no mafioso in this place, who has that one trait we need, but you."
