After his shift, Dazai went back to his apartment.

He checked on [Name] while he was supposed to be working. They had a bit of a conversation, and he eventually realized what the kid was up to. Dazai kinda understood why [Name] did all of this, but he also knew it could have consequences. He wasn't worried or anything. Yeah, he definitely wasn't. Why would he? Atleast he could tease Kunikida how he knew everything meanwhile the blond couldn't figure it out by himself.

Dazai opened the door to his apartment, and was surprised to see how dark it was. It was almost nighttime, but the moonlight was supposed to make the room a bit brighter. The man shrugged it off, as if he just forgot to draw the curtains before he left for work in the morning. However, he remembered he left the kitchen lamp on.

Maybe the bulb died out? Well, he used it ever since last January, it would be understandable.

Even though there were explanations for every possible reasons, Dazai was still skeptical.

He stepped in and tried to find the light switch which was beside the door. The man touched the wall beside him, his hand searching for the switch, unsuccessfully. Dazai's eyes didn't get used to the dark yet, which only made it harder to find it.

'Damn it... where is it...'

The door shut closed behind him. The man flinched by the sudden and loud bang! noise his door made. Dazai sighed in annoyance.

"Is the wind this strong? It nearly gave me a heart attack..... and now I really can't see anything. Ugh."

Now with his only light source - the entrance, where the lamps on the streets helped him - got cut off, he was left in the darkness. Dazai wanted the open the door again, his hand now shifting where the handle was supposed to be.

However, no wonder how far he reached his arms, his palms never touched anything. His hands missed the doorknob once, he stepped closer, missed it twice, and he stepped closer again. At this pace his body was supposed to hit the wall.

But there was no wall anymore, to begin with.

His hands trembled, when he took the fifth step. How? What is happening? It's too surreal. What even is this?

Dazai started running. He was hoping he would magically bump into his couch or kitchen counter, find the light switch or wake up from this dream, but nothing happened. He just kept running, running and running into the infinity of the darkness, feeling like he is going in an endless circle. Everything was gone. The TV stand, his matress, the brick walls... everything. Nothing was left, which would indicate it was his home. Just the pitch black nothing.

It was weird his nullification skill didn't cancel it out.

There was one explanation to this.

Dazai's breath started to run out, making him take bigger exhales as he quickened his steps.

This is not an ability.

This is so much worse.

"Have any of you seen Dazai?" Kunikida looked up from his laptop the next morning, clearly annoyed, as he checked the time for the hundredth time.

"He is probably skipping work again." Yosano shrugged her shoulders as she continued to watch over [Name] and Kenji's chess match.

The latter hesitantly placed one of his white pawns on the A4 field.

"Isn't it concerning, how he skips work every now and then?" [Name] asked, but their eyes were still fixated on the board, thinking of the next move.
