[Name] had an arguement which lasted several days.
It was a pointless fight, really. It started out when [Name] forgot to wash the dishes, which later resulted in the kitchen smelling like rotten fish. It was just an accident, but it was the start of an avalanche.
Everything seemed to go downhill: their mother began to pick on every little mistake they made and their father took the mother's side in every pity arguement [Name] had after with their parents. All three of them had enough of each other.
At first, the reason they fought was quite simple. [Name] is too irresponsible, their parents are too controlling and because of this, [Name] can't be in peace. The older ones take everything too seriously and they need to slow down, let [Name] enjoy their life.
Then it quickly adapted into heated arguements, when all of them brought up each other's past mistakes. Even if they have already regretted those, and even if they didn't.
None of them knew exactly why were they arguing. They didn't even try to recall it anymore. All of them just wanted to prove they are on the right.
The house was so loud, the neighbours had to come over and tell them to quiet down. It happened twice already. There were days after this, where they didn't talk to each other at all, even purposely not being in the same room as the other.
But after this phase ended, all three of them found their voices and began the shouting again. This day was no different than the other.
"It's all because you take things so seriously!" [Name] yelled at their mother.
"Oh, really?! You would have died several times, if I wouldn't be here to stop you from doing idumb things!" their mother threw the book she was holding to the ground, which landed with a loud thump. "Sometimes, I wish I'd have a more responsible child! A better one even!"
Tears swell on [Name]'s eyelids. They hoped that their mother was just over the top with this arguement, but they didn't know what to believe in by now.
"Why can't you be like your classmates?! They are respectful and mature, unlike you!" their dad chimed in.
[Name] wiped their eyes with the sleeves of their sweatshirt. Their throat felt too sore to yell at the same loudness as their parents did, but they still pushed themselves to their limits.
"You could be better parents too, you know?! Parents who understands their children's boundaries, and don't get annoyed by dumb little things like this!"
"You shouldn't talk to us like that! This is unacceptable!" their father shouted back. "We gave a roof over your head, feed you and we asked for one thing! One goddamn thing!"
Without a word, [Name] stormed to their room, and shut the door.
Nothing could be heard from upstairs. The mother and the father looked at each other in a confused manner. Both's mind went in a thousand directions, ranging from anger, sadness, and fear, that their beloved kid might do something they will definitely regret in the future. However, both of them realized what was about to go down, when their child came out of their room with a stuffed backpack.
"What do you think you are doing?!" their mother questioned while following [Name] to the front door. "You are worrying us!"
"To [Friend's name] house! Their parents treat me more like a human, than you do!" they swung the door open.
It was raining. [Name] didn't even notice it before. How long has it been pouring outside? Maybe an hour? Two, even? They were too busy proving their point to the older ones, that they didn't even take a look outside the window.
