[Name]'s head hurt all day, no matter what they did. Yosano gave them some pills to ease the pain, but it didn't work. They put down all screens even the books with small fonts, and decided to just rest their eyes for an hour, but it had no effect either. At some point, the kid even felt like the world was spinning around them for a good minute.
After some time of their painful misery, they just decided to spend the remaining time in one of the booths. [Name] lay on the couch, placing their head on the armrest of the furniture. They put the earphones on, which was connected to an MP3 player Fukuzawa lended them when all this headache fuss happened. There was mostly slow classical music on the device, but the kid didn't really mind it.
They closed their eyes and just tried to enjoy the music, but the pain didn't seem to remit even a bit. It drove them insane.
[Name] held their head with both of their hands. Their palms were cold. It felt good, but it helped nothing. Tanizaki and Yosano even checked on them, if everything was alright. All three of them knew the kid was lying when they shrugged it off, but the older ones thought it would be better if they don't really disturb them anymore.
The kid's own voice spoke in the back of their mind, quietly whispering as if no one was supposed to hear them. It repeated the same old word again an again, it's tone changing after everytime it said it, going from trying to get [Name] to understand it, then to anger because of their stupidity. It was quite ironic, considering the own mind was complaining how dumb their own self really was.
'Remember.'
......
......
'Remember!
......
......
'REMEMBER!'
[Name] turned to their side.
'But why do I need to remember?! What is the purpose?!'
They groaned. It was annoying. Remember, remember... but how? It just made the headache worse. Thinking about all the possibilities of why, browsing through the recent memories... it was nearly impossible to know what they had to remember. The past was so far away... so, so far away, [Name] couldn't recall anything. A lot of things happened in the previous weeks. What was so important, a part of the mind wanted them to remember so much? Everything was important to them.
Ever since Ranpo solved that case infront of [Name] and Poe, everything felt weird. The american's appearance... was it what they needed to remember? Did the man had that much of an influence on the whole show? Wait... this is a show, [Name] had watched before.
Then... what if the thing they needed to remember, wasn't something completely from the past, but from the future?
Something bad is going to happen.
Something [Name] is supposed to know.
Something [Name] seen before in the anime and the manga.
But of course, memories don't come back in a finger snap. It doesn't work like that. They still have no fucking idea what will happen, even though they used all their remaining strength to brainstorm.
Altough, nothing came to their mind. It was both annoying and stressful.
What were they supposed to do? Just lie on the damn couch, blasting classical music in the earphones and wait for their fate? A bad thing is going to happen to one - or more - of their friends, and they don't even know what. [Name] wasn't going to change the plot, obviously. They simply wanted to be prepared mentally for the future. Even if the thought of doing something against it would cross their mind, Fukuzawa's request would stop them. They didn't want to disappoint him again. It wouldn't worth that much.
