The Sky Casino had a great view to the city underneath it.
[Name] didn't know how them and Nikolai got that high in the sky. All they could remember from the ride is their thoughts. They were certain, that the fire was because of the Decay of Angels. No other explanation could go with this.
Nikolai pressed his cold gun against the back of the kid's neck as they walked through the hallway. The customers around them didn't say a word; they just minded their business, either not noticing or just simply ignoring the hostage. So helpful people, what can I say, [Name] groaned in their thoughts.
The way to God knows where was silent, neither the clown or the kid say anything. Though, the destination was not that unknown to [Name]: they had a strong feeling Fyodor Dostoevsky is waiting for them in a room, they just had no idea in which one out of the probably hundreds.
"I wonder how you'll react if one of your legs went missing~" Nikolai randomly spoke with an unsettling smile.
"Wait, wha-"
"Left or right?....." he wondered, trying to choose one. "Which is your dominant leg?"
"Wai- wha- hold o-" the words were stuck in [Name]'s throat by the surprise. "I ain't telling you that!"
What even was a dominant leg?
Nikolai pouted.
"Aww.... now I have to decide!" he seemed.... disappointed? This man has a lot of loose screws.
The kid frowned, completely forgetting the gun pushed against their nape.
"I am not letting you take my legs!" they started to get frustrated by the clown beside them. "Or any of my body parts! Take Sigma's or I don't know!"
The man sighed.
"But he is no fun!" Nikolai complained as he cocked the gun. "And neither are you."
[Name] knew he won't shot them. [Name] knew, Fyodor needs them for something, so Nikolai shouldn't harm them. It wouldn't be logical, otherwise. [Name] knew, they'll safely get to the meeting room, yet their shoulders tensed. Their heartbeat was completely random, sometimes faster or slower but never regained it's periodic tune. The kid thought they'd fall to the ground by how their legs were shaking.
'Guess I'll just shut my mouth for now...'
The two took a right turn, then a left and a right again. The kid almost thought the man was just messing with them or even he doesn't know which way to go.
Though, Nikolai didn't remain silent. He bombed [Name] with different riddles, some not even making sense, but still asked those, just for the sake of confusing the kid. And the poor latter, thinking there will be consequences for not giving a good response, used all their effort in finding the correct answer, even if it had none.
It was fun. For Nikolai. Not really for [Name].
Though, the two could've gotten along in another universe, where Nikolai currently isn't a walking threat to the other.
"What do you call a hostage, who is slowly losing their mind due to the stress if they can make it out alive?" the clown chirped, dancing on the kid's last nerve.
"Me."
"Eh, I'll take it." the man shrugged his shoulders.
[Name]'s eyes twitched as a cold sweat ran down on the side of their face. This clown is unpredictable, and they didn't like that.
"What did the two-headed lion say when he had to be on a vegan diet?" asked another brilliant question Nikolai, not really paying attention where they were wandering.
