[Name] needed a lot of willpower to not open the can of cat food beside them before Fukuzawa would arrive.

Instead, they took a bite of their crepe while watching the strays already gathering around them. The kid crouched down to pet a feline which just rubbed its head against their leg, seemingly asking for treats. However, since the man has just finished paying for his and [Name]'s food, and already started walking towards the bench they have chosen, the kid decided not to.

Fukuzawa sat beside them with his own crepe in his hands.

"I assume you have a few things to tell me, which happened in the last day or two. Right?" he began the conversation with this sentence, but it didn't bother the kid.

"Yeah. It's like you read my mind." [Name] responded while struggling to open the can with one hand, but eventually got the hang of it and snapped the tab and top half off.

They placed it on the ground infront of both of them, and watched as the stray cats immediately started eating.

"First of all, after I rescued you from Dostoevsky's 'assassination attempt', or whatever you want to call it, I broke the equality between the Bungou Stray Dogs universe and the other." they stopped for a moment to think. "Well, basically it was the mobile, because I was perfectly balanced out with Tora before."

Fukuzawa glanced down, as he felt a cat nuzzle against his right leg, begging for more food. So, he opened the bag that he carried around before, took out a fish shaped treat and gave it to the stray, who happily accepted it. Though, he still kept his attention to his kid.

"So that means...?"

"So that means the universe was trying to find and elinimate the bug, which was causing the unbalance. But since it had no idea, what or whose fault it is, it had to take guesses."

Fukuzawa nodded, then gave out another snack to a feline.

"And then you destroyed the phone."

"And then I destroyed the phone, what presumably recovered the equality and brought back everyone. Since the bug was not present anymore. It basically seperated the two universes from each other, like this swapping with me and Tora never happened. I think you get it."

"I do."

[Name] pulled their legs up while munching on their crepe.

It wasn't like they were mad at their dad or anything, but his response was a bit too dull and neutral for their liking. He could've atleast shown a bit more emotion in his answer. Like anger, disappointment or anything, but this tiny two worded sentence just drove the kid insane. They didn't know what he was thinking about. He could've atleast give a hint on what his opinion on the situation is.

However, at the same time, it felt like he wanted to say something else too. Like he wanted to add more to his speech, but just decided not to, because he either thought what he was meant to say was not good enough or because he would simply regret it later.

The silence was becoming louder as the seconds passed. It was more unbearable than before. Both [Name] and Fukuzawa drowned in their thoughts, but never shared it with the other, like how they intended to in the beginning.

So then, before it would eventually kill them inside, the man spoke up.

"After all of this... I'm proud of you."

And it really surprised the kid, what he had to say.

"What.... what do you mean? Why? Why are you proud? I don't understand!"

"You said it yourself." this just confused them even more, but luckily, he gave them no time to think about it. "You destroyed the phone. It means you have given up on your universe. Given up on your past family, or the chance to connect to all of them ever again. Because you knew it wasn't the right thing to do. Because you knew, it made people's lives miserable. You gave up on your original mother and father, and accepted your new family. The agency and me. That is the reason."
