Paul parks the car and we both get out and meet each other at the boot. It was now Friday night and me and Paul were on our date. He hadn't told me anything about so it was all a complete mystery up until now.
"I hope this doesn't seem boring to you..." He says as he opens his boot and pulls out a two backpacks and hands the lightest one to me.
"No! I'm glad we're doing this. I can't stand fancy restaurants! They always seem so rehearsed. This will be way more fun." I say smiling.
"I'm glad. I've been overthinking this for three days worrying about you not liking the date." He closes the boot and we both start walking up the Hollywood Hills.
"Do you hike often?" I'm assuming he does because he has a dog which means he walks it and he looks pretty fit, like he does exercise often.
"Yeah, me and Meadow usually hike with the puppy. I've never done it at night time though." He says.
"I can't wait to see the view at the top!" I say running ahead slightly. Me and Paul both have torches so that we can see the pathway clearly and we don't get lost. Paul catches up to me and laughs at my eagerness. "Don't exhaust yourself." I joke with him. "We want to make it to the top." I smirk as he gives me a look of hurt. "What's in these backpacks Paul?" I ask as I look up at the sky which is full of bright shining stars.
"Snacks and blankets of course." He grins. "You want a beer?" He asks as he drops his backpack from his back and unzips it.
"Sure." I laugh. He hands a can of beer and his to hold whilst he rezips it and throws it on his back again.
I hand him back his beer and we both open them.
"Cheers." I say.
"Cheers." He says too as we both hit our cans together.
I start laughing. "We both look like crazy people hiking at 10:30pm drinking beer." I say laughing. There was nobody around but I'm not surprised. I've never seen anyone hike at this time, some people drive up the hills and sit in their cars but I guess Paul thought walking would be interesting.
"Very true but this feels normal to me." I look at him and smile when I see a smile creeping onto his face as he looks the other way drinking from his can.
"You do this with all your love interests?" I ask smirking. I hope his not one of those guys who do the same things with different girls.
"Nah, just the pretty ones." He jokes winking at me. Smooth Paul, smooth.
"If we get murdered I'm going to murder you again once we get to heaven." I say as I look around seeing nothing but pitch black. We're completely surrounded by grass and trees. This seems like the perfect situation for a murderer to jump at kill us whilst were vulnerable.
"That doesn't even make sense. I don't think you can murder anyone in heaven Alena." He laughs as he drinks his beer.
"It makes perfect sense and I'll find a way, trust me." I point at him as a way of threatening him.
"So you're not as innocent as you look?" He asks smirking. I shake my head. "Well no ones going to murder us. I mean look at me, no ones going to mess this " He says holding his arms up to his side when he says look at me.
"Oh wow!" I say shocked at his cocky attitude. "You didn't just say that!" I shake my head in amazement.
"Hey! I'm ripped and you know it." He flexes his biceps and grinds his teeth. I start laughing uncontrollably.
"Ok Paul..." I say patting his back and he just smiles at me.
"I can see it on the news tomorrow morning; two weirdos from Santa Barbara murdered in the the Hollywood Hills whilst drinking beer in the dark." I joke.
"No no. It will be; one weirdo and one ripped hunk from Santa Barbara."
"Ouch." I say hitting his arm. "You're not as ripped as you think you're seeing in the mirror."
"It's not true." He says denying my words.
"You're delusional." I laugh.

"We made it!" Paul cheers as he puts me down from the piggy back.
"Five beers later!" I laugh high giving him. I open my backpack and get out one of the blankets Paul packed. I lay it on the floor so that we can sit down.
We both sit near the edge with our legs in front of us. Paul had told me earlier before the date to wear something comfortable. I had decided on black leggings and an oversized nike hoodie with trainers. It was a little bit cold tonight but not freezing, there was just a slight breeze.
"What a view." Paul says as he looks down into the city.
"Yeah, it's pretty amazing." I say looking at him smiling.
"That was cheesy. I never expected you to do something like that." He laughs loudly.
"I had to do it before you did." I hold my hands up in defence laughing too.
"Come here." He says pulling me closer to him. I freeze for a second, wary of getting closer to Paul. I decide to cuddle into his side as he puts his arms around my shoulder holding me close. I take in his scent as I look at the view. I take out my phone and take a photo of the city. Everything was perfect in this moment. There were a million little gold lights shining across the city. "It puts everything into perspective." Paul says. I look up at him. "Like, were a tiny piece of this puzzle. It's humbling." He looks down at me.
"Alright Gandhi." I joke mocking him.
He rolls his eyes but smiles.
"I can't help being wise." He says confidently.
"Your borderline arrogant." I laugh.
"I'm messing with you." He kisses the top of my head. "I don't know if it's the 5 cans of beer that's making me happy or you." He whispers quietly.
"It's probably both."

How sad is the picture. It's from Paul's friends instagram: Vinstagramhi
I get upset about Paul all the time and I didn't even know him. I can't imagine being in his friends and families position.
Anyway, it's Father's Day so I hope everyone has a great day.
Meadow posted an unseen photo of her and Paul which made me cry because it's the cutest thing ever.
