ALENAS POV

I looked up at the ceiling as my eyes adjusted to the bright light. I don't recall going to sleep let alone picking up Meadow from her party. I move around in my bed feeling an unfamiliar uncomfortableness. This isn't what my bed feels like. I frown as a fidget around and my eyes scan the room. It's unrecognisable but I realise that it's a hospital room. What am I doing in hospital? I begin to sit up but I get a shooting pain near my ribs and wince as my head starts to throb, causing a ringing noise within it. I try to speak by my voice isn't quite there so I just end up coughing. I end up laying back and I look around wondering if anyone has visited or for any clues to how long I've been here.

10 minutes pass before the door to my room opens. I watch carefully as Paul walks in carrying a sandwich and a bottle of water. He looks up and his eyes land on mine and soon widen.

"Lena! Thank god you're awake!" He says as he puts down his food on the side and rushes towards me. He cups my face in his large hands and plants a kiss on my forehead. "Are you ok? Are you in pain? Do you need anything?" He asks all at once. My head starts to hurt as my confusion increases.

"I'm fine. Paul what happened? I don't remember anything. Why am I here?" I ask frowning. He takes a seat next to me and he takes my hand, rubbing it gently with his hand.

"You got into a car accident." He says. My heart drops. Did anyone else get hurt besides me? I couldn't live with myself if someone got killed. "You've been out for 4 days. You had trauma to your brain and the doctors couldn't tell how long it would take for you to wake up." He explains.

"Where's Meadow?!" I quickly ask as I sit up. I was supposed to be picking her up and now I'm laying in a hospital bed, clueless to where she is.

"She's at my sisters. She's fine. Don't worry about anything, me and Laura have everything under control." He says assuring me. "I'm just glad your awake." He says as he kisses the back of my hand.

"Did anyone else get hurt?" I ask. I'm not entirely sure I want to know the answer.

"Not severely. You're the only one." He says sighing. "Laura said that you wouldn't want anyone to ring your parents so they don't know about your accident." He informs me. Thank god. My parents would kill me if they found out that I was the cause of a car accident.

"Good. You look like you haven't slept in a while." I say changing the subject to him whilst looking closely at his face. We both haven't been able to take our eyes of each other. His hair was outgrown and kinda scruffy, and he had stubble, along with his blue eyes which looks tired. He still managed to look like an angel sent from heaven.

"I haven't been able to. You've had me worried sick." He shakes his head looking down and smiling. I smile slightly. I didn't realise he would care this much about me.

"You didn't need to be. I'm a tough cookie." I say. "When can I go home?" I ask as I look around the room.

"I'll go ask someone. Stay put. I don't want you getting hurt." He says as he stands up and looks over me. I roll my eyes and nod.
