"My head has never hurt this bad." I barely open one eye and manage to whisper across to Laura who happened to share a bed with me last night. When we get drunk we usually do this in case one of us throws up. She was sprawled out over more than half the bed and I was almost falling over the edge.
"Could you talk quieter" She mumbles with her face down into the pillow.
"If I talk any quieter it would just be air coming out of my mouth." I respond to her stupid request.
"Exactly. Silence would be good right now." She groans.
All of a sudden a phone starts ringing and we both groan. I start searching for my phone, feeling around the bed for it. I find it, with my eyes closed shut and answer it before I look at the caller I.D, just wanting the ringing noise to end as soon as possible.
"Hello." I murmur groggily. Why would someone be ringing me at this time of morning.
"Oh, wow. You sound like you're in great shape." I recognise Paul's voice as he chuckles.
"Didn't you drink anything last night?" I ask surprised by he's cheerfulness. He clearly doesn't have a hangover right now like me and Laura do.
"I did, but I'm a responsible adult." He says smugly.
"Good for you." I say sarcastically. "I think I'm dying." I whine. "Why are ringing me so early? Is this karma?" I ask.
"Have you even looked at the time? It's not that early." He answers. I take my phone away from my ears and squint trying to adjust my eyes to the tiny numbers at the top.
"Aw shit. It's nearly 3" I say causing Paul to laugh even more. That meant that I had wasted most of my Sunday sleeping when I should have been working on my artwork that my teacher wanted in for first thing Monday morning. "So what can I do for you Mr Walker?" I ask, rubbing my eyes and preparing myself to stand up slowly.
"I called to tell you that I go on a trip for two weeks tomorrow morning so I wondered if you wanted to come over and chill?" He asks. I feel slightly sad that he's leaving, but two weeks isn't too bad.
"Sure. I need to shower first and then I'll be over." I say as I quickly walk downstairs to get some water and medicine.
"Alright cool." He says and I can hear the smile in his voice.
I take some painkillers and chug down a glass of water before heading back upstairs to give Laura hers before she dies.
"Here take these." I say putting painkillers in her hand and a glass of water.
"Thanks babe." She mumbles as she downs it all. "Where are you off to?" She asks as I head into the bathroom and turn on the shower.
"Paul's place. He goes away for two weeks tomorrow so he invited me round." I say as I walk back out and over to my draws. I pull out some grey sweatpants, a matching hoodie to wear with it, a tank top and some clean underwear.
"Aw, ok. Looks like you'll be spending more time with me then huh?" She says smirking.
"I spend time with you! I just spend more time with Paul these days." I defend myself. I never want to be one of those girls who completely ditches their friends for their boyfriends.

After showering I head over to Paul's place with one of my favourite pillows. I don't know what he has planned but I just want to lay my head down for a good 3 hours.
"You don't look as rough as you sounded over the phone." Paul says laughing as we walk into his lounge. "Make yourself comfortable, I'll get you a drink, what do you want?" He asks as he leans over the back of the couch that I'm now laying on.
"Can I just have a water with ice please." He nods and heads off into the kitchen to get it.
"Is Laura cleaning the house?" Paul asks as he comes back with the drinks and hands me mine.
"As if! She'll leave it until I'm forced to do it. I'll probably do tomorrow after my classes." I say groaning at the thought of cleaning up the house. I didn't notice how bad the place got trashed the first time I went downstairs to get medicine but after my shower, whilst I was leaving I realised that it was pretty bad.
"Good luck with that. The garden was pretty fucked up." He says. He would obviously remember as he didn't drink anything where as I have black spots in my memory.
"Thank you." I say laughing. "I had a good time anyway, well from what I remember." I mumble the last part. "Where is it you're going?" I ask Paul. He's sitting on the same sofa with his back against the back of it and legs are on top of his lap.
"Atlanta. We're filming some stuff down there."
"Have you been before?" I ask.
"Briefly. Hopefully I get to do some fun stuff whilst I'm down there."
"Are you taking Meadow?"
"For the first 10 days but then one of my sisters is going to take care of her. She begged me to let her stay with you though."
If Meadow stayed with me I would be such a pushover and let her do anything because I hate saying no to children.
"Aw really? I don't mind Paul. She's more than welcome to stay for a weekend. Me and Laura have nothing better to do." I say as I hug my pillow.
"Don't you have work to do for college?" He says laughing. Yes. Yes I do.
"Yeah but my teacher loves me, she's pretty chill about the whole deadlines stuff." I say completely lying.
"Mhmm." He say nodding.
"You wanna go upstairs?" Paul says laying his head back and looking over at me.
"Already?" I ask laughing.
"I didn't mean it like that." He says pointing at me warningly. "I have a TV in my room and my beds more comfortable than this couch." He says picking my side. I flinch and hit his arm.
"Alright. Carry me though?" I ask smiling cheekily. I had my hood up so I could barely see anything.
"Only because I like you." He says removing my feet his lap and standing up. He puts his arm around my neck and under my legs before lifting me up. He makes a face straining noise and I gasp.
"I am not heavy." I say hitting his head.
"Are you sure?" He says chuckling whilst he carries me up the stairs.
"Yes. You're just getting old, grandpa." He laughs louder and throws his head back.
"That one hurt. I'm only 31 you know." He says.
"No way. I thought you were 45." I try to say seriously but end up laughing.
"Damn. You like older men then?"
"I guess so." I laugh even more.
He drops me on the bed and jumps on himself.
"Why have you never told me your bed was this amazing." I say snuggling into the covers.
"I didn't want you using me for my bed." He throws a pillow at me. He grabs the TV remote and switches it on before putting on a discovery channel.
"Good choice." I smirk. He lays down beside me and I take this opportunity to cuddle into him. He wraps his arm around my ways and uses his other one to stroke my hair. I look up at him and smile when he does the same.
