"Why don't we go in forever 21?" I ask Meadow as we walk through the shopping mall. It was Saturday and Meadow has a friends party later so we decided to do some shopping, all on me.

"You have better taste than my dad." She says smiling and sipping her smoothie.

"Boys don't know anything about girls fashion." I laugh as we walk into the store. "What kind of party is it?" I ask Meadow. All I knew was the address of her friends house and what time to drop her off and pick her up.

"Well, we're going to the cinema then were going out to a fancy restaurant with her parents." She says as she looks through the clothes in the girls section.

I nod. "How about this?" I ask holding up a floral skirt.

"I like that." She nods and I put it in the cart.

I can't imagine going shopping with my dad as a little girl. They don't know anything about what looks good and also my dad would dress me in long sleeves and long trousers if he had his way.

"Is this top ok?" Meadow asks as she holds up a blue tank top.

"Yeah, it will look cute with the skirt!" I say taking it to look at it closer.

We browse through more clothes and me and Meadow both go into the changing rooms so she can try on the clothes and I can say which one I like best.

"That was exhausting!" Meadow exclaims as we drive in the car.

"I think we deserve some Taco Bell?" I say looking over at her for approval.

"Definitely!" She grins and sits up excitedly.

We go through the drive through and I order us both something to eat and then drive back to my house to get Meadow ready for the party.

-

I wait for Meadow to take a shower and get dresses before she calls me upstairs.

"Could you help me with my hair?" She asks me shyly.

"Sure!" I say. "Let's go into my room." I quickly walk into my bedroom and grab my hair straighteners, putting them on. I motion for Meadow to sit down in front of my dresser and brush out her hair. "Straight or curly?" I ask her.

"Curly please." She says smiling.

Once I finish her hair I apply some lipgloss, a little bit of blush and a light coat of mascara. I didn't want her to look overdone, she is only ten, but old enough to want to look pretty.

"Lemme take a pic and send it to your dad?!" I say grabbing my phone.

"NOOO!" She says hiding her face. I laugh.

"Please! You look too cute for me not to!" I say. She finally gives in and we also take a couple of silly selfies and send them to Paul. "Alright, time to go!" I announce once I check the time.

-

I drop Meadow off at the party and start driving back to my house. I felt doing some art when I get back. My phone starts ringing. I press answer.

"Hello?" I say.

"Those pictures were great." Paul says. "Meadow looked very beautiful."

"Aww! Are you getting soft?" I ask.

"Maybe. Any I called to let you know that I get to leave earlier than I thought so I should be back tomorrow." My heart skips at the thought of seeing Paul. Even though I said that I wouldn't miss him that much and that two weeks wasn't that long, I do actually miss him a lot.

"That's good news. I was starting to lose my purpose after you left." I joke. He laughs. "I should call you back later though, I'm driving right now and I don't do multi tasking very well."

"Alright I won't distract you any longer, see you tomorrow then."

"See you tomorrow Paul." I smile. I throw my phone into my bag on the passenger seat once I hang up.

Moments later my phone starts to ring again. I think it's Paul so I reach over to grab my phone. I slow down slightly as I try to find my phone within my mess of a bag. I look up at the road and see a green light ahead so I keep driving and look back down at my bag briefly before a hear a loud horn. I look back up quickly and see a truck driving directly towards my car. I put both my hands on the wheel and try to move out the way but end up spinning and it collides right into me. I feel a strong pain shoot through my whole body and feel blood dripping from my nose. I try to move but my body won't let me. Around me I hear sirens and I feel myself drift off into blackness as I hear my phone start ringing again.
