As mentioned before, Ethos Prime was built during the Golden Age of Peace where it was also the site where humans and other species of alien met each other for the first time. The name comes from one of the alien languages which means Eternal Peace.
The city was constituted and built on the idea that many people could live together in peace and harmony which is why there are so many rural communities and tribes located in it. The communities were all represented by a community leader and the planet they all came from within the senate.
The senate was made up of at least 10,000 members from every planet and each one elected to represent the people. All of whom came from different planets and Star systems. Each one had a job role of their own in the Galactic Federation government aside from representing their own people.
Some worked for the Ministry of Prosperity, Agricultural Needs, Banking, Finance, Citizen Rights, Security, Defense, Industry, and Etc. Others worked in committees and the High Council which involved High Councilors, Ministers, Judges, High ranking politicians, Leaders of different planets, and the Presidental Chairman.
By the time the war started, tensions and divisions made its way into the government itself. Corruption and greed along with the passion to wage war was at an all time high. Many of the law enforcement and small defense forces were unable to stop the threat which led to serious problems.
In one town close to the capital, there was an incident that involved a group of humans and some of the alien citizens where they had a debate on whether or not to leave the Galactic Federation, the humans wanted to remain loyal but the aliens wanted their own separate territory and with the rising tensions of their home planets, they began to despise everyone around them. A local militia was created by the Galactic Federation and the local community government to combat the threat which would be given weapons that were slightly outdated but effective.
The local police and the newly formed militia later clashed with the aliens leading to a widespread insurgency. Even the Guardian Counter Terrorist Unit was unable to stop the fighting.
News of the violence erupted into chaos and the streets turned into battle zones. Every community was now using their own militaries to battle each other. Ethos Prime was put into martial law effective immediately.
The newly formed Guardian Defense Corps soon battled the rising warlords and the fighting quickly erupted to the entire galaxy. Planets such as Venus, Mars, Earth, Saturn orbit, and the Moon which contained many of these colonies erupted into rubble and ashes due to intense fighting. The Galactic Federation and their Allies quickly sent their troops to the lawless areas where they had to combat guerrilla forces, angry protests, separatist factions, a group of warlords, angry tribes, and a huge insurgency following one of the royal monarchs of Hivanoa and an army of mercenaries hired from a Pro-Shadow Covenant faction.
This was known throughout the galaxy as the Great Galactic Crisis.
