As time passed, people began to become more aware and involved with the new power source. It made it become such an obsession that people began to worship it even more by committing acts of hatred and violence all over.

This led to widespread chaos and destruction all over the galaxy. People began to get greedy and wanted the power all to themselves. The Light Spirit refused to share his power to those who were willing to take it for their personal reasons and this led to a division of civilization itself.

All over every planet and city, everyone began to mistrust each other and with mistrust came the chaos within it. Ethos Prime was the most targeted city of this crisis since it was sparsely populated with every single species within Galactic Federation Territory. The Galactic Federation was powerless to stop the violence and this led to a division within the government itself.

No sooner or later, everyone wanted the Galactic Federation, the only thing keeping the galaxy together, gone for good. And some even wanted the Light Spirit gone as well for starting the chaos by giving them that power.

During this time, another entity appeared. But he was different. He was not like the Light Spirit but one of shadow, evil, darkness, power, hatred, and vengeance. He spoke to those who were no longer worshippers of the light and he promised them another form of power.

One that would make them stronger and could grant them things they so desperately wanted in their lives as long as they showed loyalty to him. He was considered as their savior and so, millions of people became involved with this new entity. They revoked their old religious beliefs and began to switch to a new side: The side of Darkness.

They would later form the backbone of the most infamous galactic conquering revolutionary violent militant faction that would lead the galaxy into a huge civil war. This was the birth of the Shadow Covenant.

People from all over the galaxy who were willing to give their lives joined this evil faction and the Dark Entity gave them all the things he promised them. He granted them a power that was so powerful that it was able to end wars because no one would be seen to wage one. It was able to cause immense pain to others and this made them power hungry even more.

Entire planets soon erupted into even more intense chaos than ever before and that was when the real war began.

Factions formed over time aside from the Shadow Covenant which was made from separate planets and species. One faction for one race of alien. By that point, there was very few people that remained or who stayed on the side of the Galactic Federation. Small communities and rural areas formed their own private militias and armies in order to combat one another with weapons and armament dedicated to their home planets.

Some members of the Galactic Federation left the senate and the council to protest or join their planet's conflicts for this rising one. They had to be there for their people. It was bad enough for them to keep a hold on what little they had but this was too much for them.

Only a few member planets were left in the Galactic Federation council so they had to come up with something to combat the threat that was rising. The answer was given to them by Light Spirit himself. He proposed of a worthy army of loyal and strong but determined and worthy defenders that would protect the galaxy from the evils of the darkness. It would be made up of those who have proven to be brave, cunning, true of heart, and able to defend themselves against the forces of evil. These would be known as the Guardian Defense Corps.

The GDC would be lead by a collection of chosen commanders and officers who would be given secret abilities and were capable of leading the entire army. The rest would be new recruits and volunteers that were given the same abilities as their leadership counterparts or those who were not granted but still wanted to be a part of this already divided society.

Aside from being given special powers and abilities, they were able to hold weapons that were way advanced and modern in their society which would be powered by the same energy source granted by Light Spirit.  This would involve modern warfare equipment and weapons from ages long ago but they were still useful.

The Galactic Federation also established other groups that could carry out the same missions as the guardians such as Ethos Prime Security Force and the Galactic Federation Military Guard. Both of which would later be indoctrinated into the Guardian Defense Corps prior to the war.

At this point in time, many were shocked to hear of the Galactic Federation building an army to fight against this threat. Their enemies were also shocked and furious to hear the news since the Galactic Federation has prohibited the use of weapons or building armies of their own. To many who followed either the rising Shadow Covenant empire or the small warlord factions from all over the galaxy, this was seen as an act of betrayal and hatred for all.

Those who remained loyal to the Galactic Federation found themselves to be in tough spots as many of their own families and friends turned on them. This divided them even more so much that they were forced to leave their homes or settle on new planets especially neutral ones like Neomuna City.

Some planets tried to stay neutral or did not want to have any involvement with the rising problems but not even they could escape the chaos. It was only a matter of time before one side could be ready for the war. And that would soon come on the city of Ethos Prime.!
