The moment everyone waited for.
The moment where everything that was lost and was thought to have been in vain was finally here.
The last battle for the civil war.
The Civil War that:
Had been raging for almost a decade and was now this close to being won by the Galactic Federation.
For weeks during the preparation, factories had been working, soldiers had been training, and now ships were being ordered to meet at the portal.
This was it.
The final battle to determine the fate of the galaxy was about to begin.
All ships.
From the smallest to the largest.
From the widest to the thinnest
All carried troops of the GDC and their allies
And it was at this moment that new friends and old enemies that soon became new Allies came together
To fight a common enemy
Before the battle could start, Vanguard Commander in Chief, President Zavala made a quick speech.
One that would go down in history and would later impact the soldiers even after the war had ended.
The speech that would later encourage them all to keep fighting to the bitter end until freedom had finally been restored.
This was the last speech that any commanding officer within the GDC would give in this war that was coming to an end.
President Zavala's speech (my version):
Attention,
Soldiers, sailors, warriors. Pilots, militia, everyone!
You know why you stand before here today!
You know why you are here!
And you know what we are doing here!
Today is the day!
The day where this war!
This War!
This war which has been raging on for almost a decade!
This war which caused a massive amounts of destruction!
This war which has caused deaths and violence in massive scale no civilization should have to experience!
And this war which saw immense suffering be caused by our enemy on a scale beyond imagination!
This day upon you all!
Is the day where this brutal military conflict all for the sake of peace and prosperity including the meaning of the word salvation!
Will come to an end!
At this very moment, our enemies prepare for our arrival!
They have all the weapons they have in there!
From ships to troops and a vast array of weapons!
But they don't have the one thing we have:
Honor!
You all have the courage, the might, and the morale of our Galactic Federation to bring peace and true salvation!
And I promise you all, you will have setbacks, you might lose some friends of yours, but just know that you are not doing this for yourself!
