Chapter 8

Callid almost jumped in fear when the Professor's face welcomed her sight as soon as she entered their empty room. She was the first one to arrive at their classroom and the Professor's first and last subject to them was still at 3 PM. And because they're the only ones present inside the room the Professor has all his free will to carelessly ask things concerning Kristel.

"Kristel told me that the man who drove her last night was your brother. Is she telling the truth or not?" The Professor asked seriously.

Callid gulped audibly, somehow she felt obligated to answer the Professor's inquiries.

"Y-Yes."

"What is her relationship with your brother? Are they really just friends?" Teo asked. He's determined to know the truth.

Did Kristel tell him that they are 'just' friends? Callid carefully blew a loud breath. This matter doesn't concern her and she has no rights to disclose her best friend and her brother's arranged marriage.

"Are you suspecting Kristel lying?" She asked but the Professor remained stoic.

Teo cleared his throat. He wasn't expecting that.

"She told me that he's just a friend." His eyes narrowed. "I don't suspect, Kristel. I suspect your brother."

Callid winced. Was it a good decision to be updated with her friend's love life? She never knew that hearing possessiveness in the Professor's tone will give her tons of cringe.

"If Kristel told you so, just believe her."

Mas lalong naningkit ang mga mata ng Propresor. Pilit nitong binabasa ang emosyong naglalaro sa mukha ng kausap ngunit bigo siya.

Teo tsked. "Fine. What matters is that she told me that I'm more handsome than your brother." Nagyayabang nitong sambit.

"She told you that?!" Gulat na tanong ni Callid.

"It's offending to see your reaction but be thankful you're Kristel's friend. Yes. Ang sabi niya sa'kin kagabi wala akong dapat na ipag-alala dahil mas gwapo at macho ako sa kapatid mo. I think she likes me." Teo boasted.

Callid had to bite her lower lip to stop herself from laughing. Ah! There's another reason to tease my friend!

"I'm glad to hear that, Sir." Callid muttered before tapping her Professor's broad shoulders. "I'm cheering for the both of you!" Aniya pa kasabay ang pagtaas ng nakayukom nitong mga kamao na animo'y chini-cheer ang dalawa.

Tumango-tango naman ang nagyayabang na Propresor.

"You're siding the right love team, my student. I have to go, I don't want to give Kristel wrong impressions when she saw us. Gusto kong isipin niyang siya lang ang gusto ko, dahil siya lang naman talaga ang nandito." Itinuro pa nito ang dibdib, "Good luck with your studies, Miss Callid." Ani Teo bago lumabas ng klasrum.

Callid was breathing in and out not to let a single laugh escape from her mouth, so when the Professor disappeared from her sight she couldn't help but to blurt in laughter.

"Shutangina..." She was laughing that she couldn't stop herself from tearing. And she was in that misery when Kristel came.

"What happened to you? Maaga pa para sapian ka ng saltik mo, Cally." Ani ng kaibigan.

Callid was still giggling. "Ang corny niyo. Ang corny-corny ninyong dalawa."

Kristel, who was clueless regarding the conversation between her friend and the Professor, could only frown in confusion.

"Sheesh! Wala akong pake kung bumagsak ako sa Philosophy basta si Sir Teo pa rin ang gusto kong Prof."

"Matigas kaya ang braso ni Sir?"
