Kristel had slightly calmed after the call with the Professor and her brother could see it. Gone the trembling and teary-eyed Kristel. Although, she had calmed a little fear was still written on her face. Hindi pa rin kasi siyang kinakausap ng kapatid kahit tapos naman na ang diskusyon nila sa opisina ng Konsehal.

"Mauuna na ho kami, Tita." Ani ng kapatid sa Ina ng kaibigan niyang si Callid.

"Don't scold your sister, Hope. It's not her fault."

Hope just gave the middle aged yet sophisticated woman a tight smile. He looked at Callid.

"Are you okay, sweetheart?" Nag-aalala nitong tanong sa dalaga. Ito kasi ang pangunahing kasama sa gulo.

Umismid ang Ina nito. "I was about to ground her for getting involved within a fight but she won. Don't worry about my baby, she can defend herself just fine. Also, don't be too harsh on your baby sister hmm? She's the victim here."

Hope did not answer, making the middle aged yet sophisticated woman sigh as she shook her head. Like father, like son. She thought as she remembers how stubborn Hope's father was way back in their teens.

"C-Can you please keep this a secret to Tita Juzel?"

The woman couldn't help not snort after hearing that woman's name.

"Argh! That woman doesn't know a thing about parenting." She uttered in a matter of fact tone.

Hope tilted his head.

"Aren't you friends with Tita Juzel?" Hope asked, confused.

Natuptop ng babae ang bibig at saka sarkasmong nagsalita. "Oh my! I forgot! Thank you for reminding me, hijo." She giggled. "Don't worry I promise she won't know. Kami na ang bahala sa nangyari, ipapa-update na lang kita kay Callid."

"You have my contact, Tita. Pwede mo naman akong i-text." Sambit ni Hope.

Malapad siyang nginitian ng kaharap pagkatapos ay ginulo ang buhok niya.

"Wait for Callid's update, hmm?" Tinapik-tapik pa nito ang pisngi ng binata bago tuluyang pumasok sa kotse nila.

Wala na rin namang nasabi pa si Hope. Naglakad siya palapit sa kotse kung saan naghihintay ang kapatid ng matanaw niya ang binatang sangkot sa gulo. A scowled lined on his face. It was a relief to know that Callid won the fight—that was already expected for a black belter—but Hope still wants to beat the man into pulp. Kung hindi lang siya makakadagdag sa kasong aayusin kanina pa sana niya pinasabog ng husto ang bibig at ilong ng binata. He did not only humiliate his baby sister but he's also harassing her. Hope has to breath deep and multiple times before depositing himself inside his car. Natatakot siya na baka sa kapatid niya maibunton ang galit na para sa binatilyo.

The traffic jammed them in the middle of their way home. Being stuck in the middle of the day with her brother who's silently treating her was definitely tormenting. Her brother has been sighing since he entered the car. Kristel bit her lower lip, it was already her brother's 50th sigh since they left the municipality.

Gusto nang maiyak ni Kristel. Hindi siya sanay sa ganito. Natatakot siya na baka dahil sa nangyari ngayong araw ay ibalik siya ng kapatid sa Ina. The horror in thought embraced her and a lot of what ifs surged inside her mind.

What if her brother told Callid's Mom to contact her Mom? What if her Mom gets her away from her brother? What if her brother realized that fighting for her rights under legalities was not worth it at all? What if her brother already grew tired of her? Is he going to give me back to Mom?

Her last thought made her tears rich. It flowed down from her eyes like a stream. She cannot take the courage to look into her brother's emotionless eyes, it only pains her. The only thing she could do was to tug the hem of her brother's shirt.
