Kaiden's P.O.V:
Not before long, Lily slammed her right hand into my chest, sending me flying off the bed into Jason. Her eyes were black as she only looked at the terrified kid. The kid reacted faster than Lily, trying to hold her down, but Lily grabbed him by the throat with her right hand. Aimee was nearly melted into the wall, staring in horror as Lily got up as she had her hand tight around the boy's windpipe.
I swore I heard Lily's voice in my head constantly screaming my name in pain. I shot up to my feet, rushing at Lily. Jace was, understandably, going to keep Aimee safe. I yanked Lily's hand off the boy's throat, hearing him gasp and cough for air, then shoved her back towards her bed. Lily flew onto her bed, slowly getting up, then looked at Aimee and Jace.
"Lily, no!" I shouted, using my long limbs to my advantage.
I grabbed Lily, putting her in a bear hug, then nodded to my brother as Lily started to thrash in my grip. Lily slammed her head into mine, which made her instantly regret it as she held her head. I heard the hospital room door slam, tossing her back onto her bed. I was quickly met with her foot slamming into my cheek, then she kicked me in the gut. Lily tried bolting for the door, but I grabbed her right wrist and spun her away from that direction. It was like she was on mission for something. Lily wasn't moving her left arm as she only stared at me with a glare. I didn't want to use her injured arm to my advantage, probably because I was scared of using too much of my strength to rip her shoulder out it's socket.
"You're not leaving out that door, baby. I don't want to hurt you," I braced myself for her to rush at me again.
Lily only smirked, then did a palm thrust in my direction. I flew into the door, knocking it down, and I held the back of my head. Lily walked to the now empty doorway, stepping out, then she started to walk down the hallway. I scrambled up, catching up to her within a few seconds of sprinting, then grabbed her right wrist again. I spun her to face me, moving to the left slightly to avoid her swinging her left arm wildly.
I'd let go of her right hand, backing up as I dodged her wild left swings, then caught her left hand. Lily kicked me in the thigh, punching me in the lip with her right hand. I didn't let go of her left hand as she kept on hitting me with a hard kick to my legs or a punch in the head and/or shoulder region.
I faintly heard her voice in my head again, and it was scream of pure terror in my head. Lily's cry in my head made me stare at her managing to slip out of my grip. She turned around as Liam appeared. I shouted at the top of my lungs as he stabbed something into her stomach.
Did this fucker really just stab my soulmate?!
Lily's emotions of terror and agony were like a tsunami in the bond as she held her gut with her right hand as Liam yanked the syringe out of her gut. She backed away from him, falling to her knees, and I fell to her side to keep her from hitting the tile. I looked at her, seeing her beautiful milk chocolate eyes.
"Did I..." she trailed off.
I shook my head, seeing her give a faint smile, then her body went limp in my arms. I looked up at Liam, seeing him only watching her. He put the syringe up in his brown leather jacket, then he crouched down to look at me.
"You okay, kid?" Liam asked.
I glared at him, and acted like a child by demanding, "Where in the fuck have you been?"
"Getting her sedatives from her father and brothers," Liam rolled his eyes, then tried to take her out of my arms.
I narrowed my eyes at him, watching him back off, and ordered, "She's staying with me."
"C'mon, Kade. We have an hour before the sedative wears off and you need to get her to the building. Bang up job in looking out for her while I was gone, by the way." Liam joked badly.
I threw a punch, hitting him in the bottom lip, then slowly got to my feet as I held Lily in one arm. I got Lily in both arms, walking out of the hospital as I heard some of the staff that were in the recruits that I used to train trying to cover for me. There was another bunch of folks that were getting personal thank you's and pay raises whenever I got this interrogation out the way. Carrying Lily, Liam was holding the doors open for me, and he even had me get in the back of his rented car with Lily as he hurried to the driver side.
Liam was driving as I held Lily close, then he asked, "Anything set her off?"
"I don't know." It wasn't a lie because I honestly didn't know.
Liam kept on driving as he asked, "Nightshade poisoning?"
I nodded, then explained, "Before she started attacking me, she was screaming and clutching at her shoulder with her face pale and sweaty."
"I bet there was more than nightshade in that poison. We're almost there." Liam grunted, and I held Lily impossibly close.
Could we ever catch a fucking break?!
