Liliana's P.O.V:

I felt my tears slipping out the corner of my eyes as the hotel room door closed on Kaiden. His eyes were filled with fear and pain, probably because my emotions were too strong in the bond. Unless...he really felt that way too. No, that would be stupid to believe that. He only cared for me because of the bond, but, my god, did I want to really believe that he actually cared for me.

I closed my eyes, slipping in and out of consciousness, due to the fire that was my shoulder screaming in pain. It was excruciating. I thought this pain was endless and it reminded me of all the torture that I went through in that hell house. I wanted to scream out all the pain, cry all the tears of fear away, but I couldn't. I didn't even let out a moan or groan of pain. Everything around me was either on pure agonizing fire or nonstop...screaming?

I opened my eyes, seeing the ceiling to the basement of that hell house. Squeezing my eyes shut, I slowly opened them once more to see Gia putting her hand in a bowel before touching my left shoulder. I felt someone dabbing a towel on my forehead, both sides of my face, then trying to get something off my neck. I turned my head to see Aimee staring at me in concern, then she mouthed something about everything being alright soon.

I felt myself coughing and then it wouldn't stop. I was helped to sit up, coughing, then Aimee gave me a small hotel bucket that was meant for ice. She held it to my mouth for me as I saw blood in the bucket, then she grabbed another napkin once I stopped coughing. Aimee and Gia both helped me lay back down, wiping my mouth for me as if I were some elderly lady on her deathbed.

"It's happening faster to her. Get Kaiden here, now," Gia said to Aimee as my entire body felt on fire.

"But we agreed—"

"I know, but the poison will kill her faster with Kaiden being so far away from her. I thought she'd be okay without him, but it seems their bond was keeping her from doing this!" Gia cut Aimee off midsentence.

I breathed out, "He...can't see me...like this."

"Lil, you need him. He's your soulmate and if he listens to us, he can help you using your bond." Aimee cooed at me.

I shook my head, but when I opened my eyes, I saw one of the vampires from the hell house. I knew it was going to hurt me to do this, but I didn't care. I threw a wild swing at her, connecting with the side of her head. I glanced to the left of me, seeing another vampire, then grabbed the hardest thing I could find. I chunked it at her, hearing her scream in pain on the impact it had when it rammed into her throat. Falling out of the bed, I heard one of them calling my name. I found some feeling in my legs as I struggled to get to my feet. I threw one foot back, hitting the first one in the chest, then scrambled to the hotel room door.

Holding into my shoulder, I ripped it open and stumbled face first out of the room. I got to my feet, hurrying out as the two were shouting my name. I did a cliché final girl thing. I looked back to see that I was in that house, then kept on running. I leaned against the wall, holding onto my shoulder tightly, and closed my eyes. I opened them when I heard an elevator ding. I scrambled in, seeing a few people in the elevator panicking at the sight of me. I begged breathlessly for someone to help me, hearing the group closing the door, and another trying to touch me.

"Don't," I managed to keep from screaming but I knew it came out like a yelp.

"Hey, it's okay. We're getting you some help," the man bent down, and I looked at him.

I stared in horror as it was another vampire from that hell hole. I threw a punch, watching my fist connect to his nose. I slowly got up, hearing everyone in the elevator panicking, and I shoved each of them out my way as I barreled through the vampires. I ran out the hotel lobby, slamming into and through the front doors, then ran out into the hellish thunderstorm. I headed down the street in a full on sprint.

The rain never let up. I turned the corner, slowing to a slight jog, and I soon stopped to hide in between dumpsters. I shivered from the freezing rain, bringing my knees to my chest, and kept clutching onto my left shoulder with my right hand. I mentally kept wishing for Kaiden. He, ironically, was all that I wanted. I just wanted to feel the warmth from his embrace, hearing his Texan accent kick in at certain words while telling me it was going to be alright.

Gently, I got to my feet, and gingerly walked out the alley way. The thunderstorm turned into a heavy rainstorm as I left the alley way. Walking down the street, my eyes were growing heavy and I started to feel dizzy. I bumped into a few people, apologizing meekly, then fell to my knees after a few more minutes of walking. I heard a few people murmuring as they walked past me, even glancing up to see judgmental stares. Some of the stares were mixed with annoyance and a little bit of concern. I knew majority of the stares probably guessed I was a junkie about to overdoes on something.

Getting to my feet, I sluggishly stalked through the downpour. I used alley ways to keep away from the stares but also to lean against the walling of the buildings for support as my feet were starting to feel numb from the cold rain. Stopping near another dumpster, I turned to lean my back against it for support. My feet lost all of the feeling I had left, making me slid down to sit on the ground, and I tried to run my left hand through my wet hair. Leaning my head against the putrid smelling side of the dumpster, I let out a shaky breath before feeling my eyes growing heavy.

No, I had to stay awake.

There was no telling when those vampires would find me. This was the one time that I wanted to be in the middle of an insomniac episode. So, I could make sure that I had time to run from them.

Kaiden, I thought as I blinked slowly. I felt my eyes closing, against my will to stay awake, but I just couldn't fight it anymore. I was going to be found by those vampires and either be killed by them, my shoulder, or by Calvin. All before I had a chance to apologize to Kaiden for putting him through all of this.
