It was another two years after that Small Council meeting had occurred, the week after it, just like Otto had demanded, Aegon and Aemma had married in the Light of the Seven.Aemmas dress itself had been something out of a fairytale, her dress a beautiful ivory with a train filled with satin roses, gems stitched all along it.
Her hair was thrown up in an intricate style, all of it placed around a crown with roses, gifted to her by Aemond that she now treasured forever.
The wedding was a grand affair, a huge feast to go along with the celebration for the newly wed couple who danced together, looking to be the perfect match.
If only the people looked closer, to see the eye contact Aemma would make over Aegons shoulder to Aemond who stood in the shadows of the feast.
If only they knew that the two chambers next to each other had a small secret passage way to connect them.
One room being Aegons and the other being Aemmas and Aemonds, saying to people that it was Aemma and Aegons shared room that Aemond slept next to.
Which is why it was so easy for Aegon and Aemond to switch places the night of the consummation. The Hand and the Queen calling off the bedding ceremony.
Leaving Aegon off to his own accord next door and Aemma and Aemond tangled within each others arms.
Nine months after that night, Aemma had given birth to twins ironically. Jaehaerys and Jaehaera.
They looked exactly like him, Aemond, she saw him in them. The only difference being that her son Jaehaerys had her eyes, fully green with specs of violet in them.
Everyone on the inside knew that too, the family and some small council members and the servants had their own speculations.
Even though he was infertile, Aegon still continued on with his infidelity, Aemma actually thought that the fact that he couldn't have kids spurred him on even more.
It didn't bother Aemma that he was unfaithful, as technically so was she, the thing that bothered her is the way he went about it.
Taking girls, young girls, and would take them them without permission. Alicent tried to hide this from her knowledge and others around the Keep.
But Aemma knew about it, she knew because sometimes that girl was her. Sometimes when Aegon drunk more wines than usual, he'd slip into her room and try have his way with her.
Luckily Aemond was always there to protect her, grabbing their brother by the scruff of his neck and throwing him out.
These thoughts lingered in her head as she was brushing Jaehaerys hair, you could barely tell him and Jaehaera apart.
The only thing that was different being Jaehaerys eyes, it would be impossible otherwise, not until they grow older.
Aemma had been waiting for one of her serving girls, Dyana, she was a nice girl, that's why Aemma trusted her so much with her children.
Dyana being only a young girl herself she had this air of innocence around her, the girl always having a smile on her face while helping out with the twins.
This is why Aemma frowned, taking notice of the girls absence when she was meant to be here helping Aemma dress the twins.
It wasn't that Aemma needed the help to dress them, but she liked Dyanas presence and the girl was always more then happy to help.
That's why it concerned her, Dyana had many duties and served her other siblings in the Red Keep, but never had she been late to dress the twins.
Aemma then decided that she'd dress the twins today and then she'd go look for the girl after.
One of Aemmas favourite things was dressing the twins up in matching outfits, today choosing to put them in matching yellow garments with dragonfly's stiched into them that she'd sewed herself with Helaena.
She wondered if her mother ever dressed her and Aemond in matching outfits when they were young.
She guessed though it wouldn't have been as fun as her and Aemond didn't look alike, maybe having some similar features but not any that were obvious from afar.
There sometimes came a thought in Aemmas mind of what she would look like if she'd had more Valyrian features.
Would her hair be more silver or have some warmth, would her hair be more straight than the waves that went through it, would her eyes be violet, lilac or lavender.
Shaking these thoughts from her head Aemma stood up, it wasn't good for her to have these thoughts, why dwell on something you could've had.
Reminding herself that she took after her mother with the stunning Hightower genes, who wouldn't want to look like the beautiful Alicent Hightower.
Brushing any dust off of her skirts, Aemma called in a different handmaiden to take care of her children while she went to go find Dyana.
The first place she went was right next door, using the door that connected the two rooms to enter into Aegons.
Pulling open the chamber door to find both Alicent and Aegon staring at her with wide eyes, Alicents having tears in them and Aegon standing there with only a sheet to cover a certain area.
"Have you seen Dyana? She was supposed to dress the children", Aemma asked, looking between the two suspiciously.
The chains on Alicents dress jingled and clinked as she walked forward, making her way to Aemma as she pulled her into a desperate hug.
Sniffling as she held the back of her head with one of her hands, stuffing her face into her long auburn locks.
"Oh my dearest Flower", Alicent cried, holding her daughter closer.
Sensing that her mother needed this hug, Aemma held her tight, leaning into the hug as she looked at Aegon over her mothers shoulder in confusion.
Aegon not meeting her eyes as he displayed a guilty look on his face, choosing to try look for something to put on to distract himself.
It only left her wondering, what had happened before she came in? and the bigger question was did she even want to know.
