Days got longer as the war brewed in progression, it only having been another day, but Aemma could tell as the castle got busier. She'd already heard of her sworn protectors departure from the Capital with her Uncle, Ser Gwayne Hightower after the Small Council meeting she'd chose to miss.
There was no chance for her to say goodbye to the man as he was now busy with his duties as Hand of the King and as Lord Commander of the Kingsguard.
Her chambers had also gotten a bit chaotic and messy since yesterday, having taken Helaena up on her offer and practically moving the girl into her chambers.
All of her stuff was scattered about Aemmas chambers as the two sisters tried to find a place for her things to fit in.
The thing Helaena was more eager and made haste to move into Aemmas room were these custom viewing tables the family had got made for her so she could put her bugs in them.
Aemma didn't mind so much, she wasn't creeped out by Helaenas obsession with insects at all, she liked hearing the studies Helaena made on the bugs, they fascinated her.
Jaehaera also liked looking through the viewing tables to see the different colors that some of the more prettier bugs possessed.
The mother and daughter sitting on the floor as Jaehaera watched and making adorable little remarks on each one, Aemma watching on with a soft smile as he daughter giggled and pointed at the different ones.
"My Dearest Flower", Alicent called as she entered her old chambers, announcing her presence to the two people in the room.
"Mother", Aemma greeted with a small half smile, raising from where she sat with Jaehaera, the little girl following her mother.
Reaching down to pet Jaehaeras head as the little girl grabbed onto her skirts, digging her face into them tiredly.
"I missed you at the Small Council meeting earlier", Alicent told her truthfully, the older woman smiling down at Jaehaera as she thought of the meeting, it having been quite the spectacle of her day,
With her father, Otto gone from the Capital and back to OldTown after having been removed as Hand of the King, Aegon had now appointed Ser Criston Cole as Hand.
Without Aemmas presence at the meeting meant that Alicent was left as the only female in the room, leaving her thoughts on a less violent war silent, silenced by the men in the room diminishing her.
"There's no use for me there", Aemma reasoned to the woman, having already known what would happen at the meeting. "All they discuss is war now."
Aemma spoke the truth, none of the men in that room would need her help with any planning nor would they ask her for advice.
"I suppose your right", Alicent agreed, having got the brunt of that statement earlier on at the meeting. "Maybe i'm better off just missing them too."
"It would save you some stress", Aemma jested with a small laugh, Alicent smiling in agreement.
