Nightfall had hit Kings Landing, the chaos in the Red Keep from todays earlier events now simmering down as the palace began settling down for the night.

Most occupants were abed, except for the knights on duty and servants that were prepping for the morning, most of the Red Keeps residents already abed.

Most residents except for Aemond Targaryen, Prince Regent and Protector of the Realm, that title was almost perfect to Aemond...almost perfect.

The newly appointed Prince Regent was stood alone in the throne room with his hands placed behind his back as he stood in front of the Iron Throne, looking to the chair of spikes with a look of pride on his face.

The thunder and lightning striking in the huge windows behind the Iron Throne lighting up the room for a split second every few minutes, making the throne appear all that more powerful.

He felt as if he could look at it for ages and never grow bored of the sight, his eye taking in every detail the Iron Throne had to offer.

Sensing something moving behind him, Aemonds brows furrowed slightly as he began to turn his head to the side in slight surprise, not knowing how he'd missed someone entering the throne room.

Aemond had always prided himself in taking notice of everything happening around him, to make up and prove to people that he was just as capable, if not more so, with missing an eye.

Head turning to the side he caught sight of a figure moving behind him, turning his whole body then to face the figure only to be surprised as he was met with the sight of Helaena standing across from him.

She seemed to have something on her mind, her mouth opening and closing slightly as if something were on the tip of her tongue that she needed to say to him as her hands clenched and unclenched by her sides.

"Was it worth the price?", Helaena eerily asked him, staring at him with wide eyes as if she were looking through him.

Aemond put on a face of indifference as he tried to push down the shocked and worried feeling he felt bubbling in his stomach from her question?...remark?

She knew something, he however didn't know wether she was speaking of his problems with Aemma or his betrayal of Aegon.

Scared he didn't particularly want to know what Helaena meant by her words, the way she had presented them to him, asking him if he truly thought what he'd done was worth the price wether it be either of his betrayal to both Aegon and Aemma.

And Aemond didn't know if he wanted to face that side of himself yet, the look Helaena was giving him as of now making him feel utterly vulnerable as he knew she could see past his facade, seeing through him and into his soul, seeing him for what he was.

Having stayed diligently by his side since the Maesters had left him after they'd finished their works, Aemma had climbed up onto the mattress by Aegons right side.
