Lowering the crown down, the room grew tense as everyone held their breaths, the red rubies bouncing off any light source it could find as the crown finally was placed atop Aegons head, the darkness of the metal contrasting the sharpness of his hair."Let the Seven bare witness. Aegon Targaryen is the true heir to the iron throne!", Ser Criston announced to the people, the coronation for Aegon now completed as Aegon rises from the ground, not yet turning to the crowd.
Looking over toward his family. Aemond bowed his head, Helaena and Alicent curtsied. Aemma stepping forward as she curtsied and placed a delicate kiss to his cheek.
It was all a show!
A show for the people to eat up and talk about for centuries on. It was to show that the family supported his claim and so should they.
Picking up Aemmas small hand, Aegon regifted that same delicate kiss to the back of her hand, giving Aemma a wary smile as she beamed to him and squeezed his hand in reassurance and then curtsied once more, stepping back slightly.
Aemond had watched on in a fit of jealousy and this time not that Aegon was going to be King instead of him. It was because Aegon got to freely have Aemma, in the eyes of the Gods and people, she was Aegons, not his.
This would leave a bitter taste in his mouth, not liking that he was seen as a mistress for her, he loved her and the kids, and he would be a much better Husband and King than Aegon, it was not fair.
"All hail his Grace! Aegon, second of his name, King of the Andals, and the Roynar and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm!", Otto spoke again announcing all of Aegons new titles.
It was dead silent in the Dragon Pit, not a word or whisper enveloping the room, you could hear a pin drop.
Looking to the ground Aegon was embarrased, not noticing the adoration on peoples faces as he only thought of the worst.
"Aegon the King!", Cole repeated, prompting people, and it worked. The room filling with cheers and claps from the people.
Aegon glancing back up in shock as the people called for him, like he was a God, he felt like one as he saw them all beaming up to him.
That's when Aegon realized that he liked this feeling, he relished in it, the very thing he'd been trying to run away and escape from, his destiny.
Unsheathing his sword, Blackfyre, sword of Aegon the Conquerer used to win the Conquest, matching the crown.
With might Aegon brought his hand up, raising the sword up high for all to see, the people cheering louder every time he brought it up and raised it in rhythms.
Alicent really smiled for the first time now as she watched her son being accepted by others for the first time in his life, though that gnawing feeling built in the back of her mind, the doubt of Viserys words.
