Arms linked, Alicent was leading Helaena over to the couch that Aemma was already sat on to sit her down next to her sister. The two daughters clad in their nightwear after struggling on getting a good nights rest again, a new occurring theme for the two, for most in the Red Keep as of late.
"Why does everybody hate us?", Helaena asked the two women in wonder.
"They're unhappy...", Alicent started as she thought on why the people hated them. "....and unhappy people look for someone to hate", she simplified for her as she finished, not going too in depth into the small folks angers and troubles with them.
Sitting Helaena down Alicent then walked back around the table as Helaena curled her feet up onto the couch, Aemma shuffling over to lean her head against the girls shoulder while Alicent picked up the tea she'd had brewed.
Picking up a cup she began to pour in the tea that shed ordered, the tea containing some essence of nightshade in hopes of helping the girls to sleep, at least for a reasonable amount of time.
"We didn't order the blockade", Helaena then said, still confused on why it was them the people chose to throw their anger at.
"No, but we are the Crown, so they expect us to break it", the mother educated to her as she finished pouring the tea into the cup. "Drink this", Alicent instructed her as she passed over the tea to Helaena, pouring a second cup for Aemma next.
"I was happier before I was Queen", Aemma confessed to the two from where she was sat curled up on the couch beside Helaena, head still rested on her sisters shoulder.
"Mhm", Helaena hummed to her words in agreement as she placed a delicate hand on Aemma arm.
Looking to both her daughters with a torn look Alicent sighed. "What would you two think about leaving this place?", she genuinely asked them.
The mother had been thinking of taking her children and fleeing ever since she'd spent the day outside in the woods, finally dropping duty and letting herself be free even if only for a moment.
With Aemond becoming more impossible to get through to these days and the Stranger looming over Aegon, Alicent couldn't help but just want to take Halaena, Aemma and Jaehaera and run away leaving this senseless war behind.
Thinking on Alicents question the two girls thought on it and couldn't help the tiny smiles that pulled on their faces at the thought of leaving the Red Keep.
"Where would we go?", Helaena tentatively asked for the both of them, neither her or Aemma disliking the idea.
Before Alicent could begin to give suggestions to the two girls a knock on the door cut off what would've been a treasonous conversation as the doors opened as Ser Rickaryd entered with a bow to the three women.
