Fulfilled
The following day, we found ourselves on a deserted beach. Yvriah was so excited that she started jumping around, even while we were still on the yacht.
"Let's head over there! I can't wait to feel that white sand under my feet," she exclaimed.
He took Yvriah's bag from me and casually slung it over his shoulder. I sighed loudly. Now he was carrying all our stuff. It was a bit annoying. The bag wasn't even heavy, but he insisted on taking it. He can't possibly carry everything. I'm here too. What's the point of my hands if they're not carrying anything?! He's being overly protective.
Napaubo ako. Anyway, where did those thoughts come from?
I wasn't surprised why I felt a chill run down my spine at my own thoughts. Bahala na nga lang! The important thing is, he doesn't know what's going on in my mind. Iyon 'yon!
"Zekeil, it's okay. Just focus on Yvriah," I told him. But it seemed like my words fell on deaf ears.
I did everything I could to free myself from his grip, and when I succeeded, I quickly hid it. He stopped and stared at me.
"Zekeil, I appreciate your help, but I can handle things on my own. You don't need to be there for me every second."
Nakipaglaban ako sa titig niya.
"Go, Zekeil. She's excited. Don't ruin her fun!"
Walang imik siyang lumapit sa bata. He carried Yvriah across the knee-deep salt water so she wouldn't get wet.
Meanwhile, I grabbed the hem of my clothes that was being blown by the wind, and then I followed them. I didn't have any inner cycling shorts so I walked very slowly, full of caution.
We spent some time on the flybridge after dinner without saying a word. Only the two of us were awake at that moment because Yvriah fell asleep around eight o'clock. She was tired from helping him out. Honestly, what happened last night felt like deja vu to me. I was surprised because I didn't feel awkward. All I could think of at that moment was that it was a memorable night. It was so peaceful. And I wanted that to happen again.
After that dinner, I noticed that he was always sticking to me like a leech. I couldn't measure the efforts he was making because if I tried, it would only result in an error. I couldn't quantify it. Numbers couldn't do justice to his effort. Even words couldn't describe it. And if he could get into my clothes, I'm sure he would. He's like that, so uncontrollable. He does what he wants. His clinginess never left, but I started to like it. Indeed! He's vocal about his feelings.
I signaled him to continue, confident that he would return to me. Goodness gracious! I can handle myself! I'm not some naive person who doesn't know where to go.
But darn it! He still came for me. I have no idea how he managed everything, and he picked me up with such ease. Just like that! Our belongings were already on the rocks where Yvriah was watching us as he carried me and placed me in front of her.
"You're so sweet. Tita Kat will be pleased with this," she said, her eyes sparkling.
Saglit akong napaisip. Why would Katriyah care about this?
I shot Zekeil a nasty look. I wanted to experience walking! But he wouldn't let me. Ewan, pero may parte sa aking naiirita pero gusto naman.
We headed towards the staircase made of pebble stone.
I looked around, and then my attention was back in front of me.
Isn't he struggling? He's carrying our stuff, and I know my suitcase is heavy. I shake my head and look down at Yvriah who's enjoying the subtle feel of the sand. I'm holding her right hand so we can walk together, but because her steps are small, she's still lagging behind. I just slowed down my pace.
