REN and The Heartless Devil

CHAPTER XXVIII

"Problem?" I ask Grae after he let go from the hug, I am looking straight to his tired eyes. He just shook his head "I'm hungry" out of this world niyang gasot sa tanong ko. I know he is just trying to divert my mind away from what he did earlier. He is now back to his usual self no trace of that pitiful Grae just seconds ago.

"Pasok" I said to him at nauna na akong pumasok, he said nothing but he followed me inside. I went to my room to change my clothes at bumaba din agad. I remember the last time he called he wants me to cook for him, I am tired but because of the different Grae that I saw, tonight is an exception from my laziness.

I saw him watching tv at the living room, feel at home lang dre, I walk straight to the kitchen and check the fridge kung anong pwede kong iluto, by the way Yuri texted me earlier that she will be home late gumala kasi sila ni Magi kaya wala sya dito.I decided to cook beef in oyster sauce and pork adobo sana lang di mapili ang isang yun.

After I prepared all the ingredients needed, I grab my ipad, played Savior by Black Veil Bride and started slicing and mixing while singing along with the tune. There are only four things where I could release my emotions and free myself; killing, music, eating and cooking.

"I will take this burden on and become the holy one. But remember I am human.And I'm bound to sing this song" I am head banging feeling every lyrics of the song habang naggigisa. "A savior will be there when you are feeling alone, oh. A savior for all that you do so you live freely without their harm" I am inside my own world where it is only me and my music."So here I write my lullaby to all the lonely ones, remember----holy shit" my eyes widen when I saw Grae leaning on the wall watching me with amusement in his eyes.

"How long have you been there?" I ask feeling ashamed. "Long enough" he said grinning ay putcha di ba nasa sala lang to kanina. I cursed five times on my mind, ang tanga mo lang Ren."I never thought you are some kind of a rocker chic" I rolled my eyes on him, tease me more and I won't let you eat. If only you knew that song is for you. "What do you mean that song is for me?" I covered my mouth with my hand. Did I say that out loud? May downside din pala ang pagbabago ko. Tch!

"I ah.." naglilikot ang mata ko. "Just listen to this yourself" I give him my headset and play the song on the bridge part. His face is blank I can't read what's on his mind pero totoo namang para sa kanya yung kanta. We're not really close but I could say he is near to the word "friend" for me. "When I hear your cries praying for light I will be there" I hum the part he is listening.

To my surprise his lips slowly curve into a smile, for the second time I've been in trance because of his splendid smile. "Really? You will be there?" he ask, his eyes glow in delight. "If I could, then why not" I said casually. He shook his head with a smile still plastered on his lips. Tinalikuran ko na sya at nag focus sa niluluto ko konti nalang to, sobrang gutom na din ako.

"Grae prepare the plates" utos ko sa kanya without looking at him. I thought he won't obliged but surprisingly he did naririnig ko kasi yung tunog ng plato. "Is it done?" his warm breath hit my nape kaya sa gulat ko bigla kong nahawan yung pot " Ouch!" I shrieked, I heard him cursed many times before he grab my wrist and drag me to the sink "What were you thinking" he angrily said to me while holding my hand. " Tch! You surprised me there" irap ko sa kanya though hindi nya nakikita. Ginamot nya yung paso ko, yes po sya ang gumamot kahit kaya ko naman ayaw paawat.
