REN and The Heartless Devil

CHAPTER L

Outside the Gangster Arena they all look like normal high school students. And I never regret coming with them here. Grabe ang sarap ng pagkain dito at student friendly ang price. Yun nga lang they are very noisy. There are seven of them in the gang plus me and Rico. I look at him and he is having fun with the Exodus' company.

"Uy Ren kain pa oh" nilagyan ni Sky ng ulam yung plato ko kami kasi ang magkatabi sa kabila naman si Fox. Lahat pala sila ay nasa grade 12 na. I'm older by two years sa kanila. If I hadn't passed that acceleration exam during my junior high siguro second year college pa din ako ngayon.

"Masyado kang FC Sky usog ka nga ng konti naiipit na si Ren oh" sita ni Alex sa kanya. He is the right hand of Fox, si Sky kasi dapat yun kaya lang palagi syang wala. They are like brothers maybe not by blood pero pag titingnan mo sila, para silang magkakapatid lahat.

"Oh Rico matunaw si Ren nyan" I snapped my head to Rico's direction and the others too. He's eyes panic by the attention we are giving. Naglilikot yung mata nya bago sya napayuko. They roared in laughter when they saw how red his face was. Kahit ako napangiti na din. "Binata kana Rico boy!" they teased him even more and he can't do anything about it. Takot lang nya sa mga gangsters na 'to, he just scratched his nape in embarrassment.

After dinner nagkayayaan pang mag videoke, I was about to say no when they beg for me to come in unison. I said I would just stay for an hour but na extend pa ng isang oras. "Ren thank you sa pagsama ha!" We are currently here at the parking lot. "Next time ulit" they waved bago sila pumasok sa dala nilang kotse.

"Rico wear this" I tossed my helmet to him buti nalang nasalo naman nya.

"Paano ka?" inabot nya sa akin pabalik yung helmet pero hindi ko yun tinanggap. "C'mon, nag-aalala na yun si Mari" pinaandar ko na yung motor ko kaya nagmadali syang sumakay sa likod. "Hold tight" and we speed up at the busy highway. Ramdam ko yung mahigpit na kapit nya sa beywang ko. Pffft! Mabagal pa nga tong takbo namin.

I was hold at Rico's house for another hour at ngayon pa lang ako pupuntang ospital it's past 9 pm already. I sneakily jump inside through the same window I use every night at lumapit sa kama nya. I stroke his hair softly like I always do. "Gising na kasi" I sulkily said to him kahit nakapikit sya.

I am seriously tracing every inch of his face when he suddenly grabs my hand. Startled by his sudden movement bigla akong napatayo at muntik ng matumba yung inuupuan kong bangko. I sigh in relief when it didn't go on falling. For sure it will make some noise at papasok yung mga bantay sa labas. "Grae, you're awake" impit kong sigaw.

Without a second thought I hug him tight. "Aww" he grunt kaya napabitaw ako saglit sa kanya. I was just so happy na gising na sya. My smile slowly faded when he just gape at me. His expression is unreadable. "You're late."

"Huh?" Paanong late ako? I looked at him with wonder.

"For the past two days. I'm hearing someone talking to me. And I know it's you. You usually come early, why this late now?"
