REN and The Heartless Devil

CHAPTER LIII

I woke up with a throbbing head. My waist and hands  are tied at the back of the chair I am sitting at. I blink my eyes countless times to make my vision clear. Ginala ko yung mata ko sa loob ng silid. On my right side is Dustin also tied to a chair. Walang ibang laman ang kwarto kundi kami lang dalawa. The place looks old, dusty and abandoned.

I tried to loosen up the rope on my hands kaya lang sobrang higpit ng pagkakatali neto. I heard a crack but still I didn't stop moving. Aim kong mapindot yung emergency button sa relo ko. It would send an alarm to Yuri and Orion. I already have a hint that Yuri is not here, trap lang yung pinadalang text sa akin. But because it was about Yuri hindi na ako nakapag-isip ng mabuti. I heard another cracking sound and I started to sweat. Masakit pero sinubukan ko pa din abutin yung relo ko and luckily I did. I was sweating and panting hard when I slam my back to the chair.

"R-ren" I instantly shifted my head to Dustin. "Are you okay, bakit pawisan ka?" sinusubukan nyang tanggalin yung tali nya sa kamay. But like mine mahigpit din yung pagkakatali sa kanya.

"I'm okay. We need to get out of here fast. That message was just bait. Yuri and Magi are not here." Ginalaw ko ulit yung kamay ko at hindi na masyadong masakit. An hour already past and were still trying to untie ourselves when the door suddenly swung open.

"Oh gising na pala yung bisita natin" one of the three thugs spoke. Yung ngisi nya alam mo talagang hindi sya gagawa ng mabuti. Hinarap nya si Dustin "Paano ba yan boy, sabi ni boss ipadala namin yung ulo mo bilang warning sa Black Death." Dustin looks so scared and helpless, he caught me staring at him at binigyan nya ako ng malungkot na ngiti.

One of them is carrying a baseball bat at nakangising parang demonyo kay Dustin. Without saying anything he smacked him hard. I heard his agonizing groan but the guy didn't stop he hit him again. Dustin spit blood from that last blow. "Stop!" I screamed but they just laugh at me, I felt so useless.

The guy fished his knife and grinned evilly at me before he turned to Dustin. "Say your goodbyes Black Scorpion." My mind went blank, ito na siguro yung tinatawag nilang adrenaline rush. In a jiffy I am already covering Dustin, parang wala lang yung mabigat na upuang buhat-buhat ko. I felt a stinging sensation on my upper back.

"A-are you okay?" I asked Dustin and look up to him. His mouth gape open nanlalaki din yung mata nya. "H-hey Dust---" I shut my mouth when I felt that searing pain again. Naramdaman ko yung nanginginig na katawan ni Dustin, siguro sa takot.

"Gago lagot ka kay boss pag nalaman nya ang ginawa mo. Ang sabi nya wag mong saktan yung babae. Tanga!"

"H-hindi ko naman alam na haharang sya eh"

Dinig kong nagsasagutan sila pero mas inintindi ko yung sakit ng likod ko. "R-ren ano ka ba. Kaya ko naman ang sarili ko ah." He placed his head on my neck. Nakasampa kasi ako sa kanya. Hindi naman nya ako mahawakan since nakatali yung kamay nya.

"Hoy mga gago! Bitbitin nyo yang babae ng magamot, ako ng papatay sa lalaking to." I started to panic again. I even felt Dustin froze on his seat. Naririnig ko yung palapit na yabag nila but before they can touch me sunod sunod na putok ng baril ang narinig ko.
