Diving into the pool, Cassandra sank below the surface. As she cut through the water, all she could think about was her new boyfriend. 'I can't believe I have a boyfriend! Me! The girl everyone in high school called 'Trash Can' because she was found in a dumpster as a newborn!'

Cassandra surfaced for air, spitting out a stream of water.

Like the cheerleaders who thought it was funny to fill her locker with cafeteria garbage, so it spilled out on her. In the grand scheme of things that once humiliating memory no longer mattered. Cassandra had a great life for the most part.

Kicking away from the wall, she began another series of laps.

Cassandra and Anakin snuck kisses at every opportunity (occasionally before she brushed her teeth, but he never complained about her morning breath), when they were both supposed to be training in their respective disciplines, in the hallway, before bed.

Every kiss was a revelation

Every kiss was a revelation. A new experience to savor in a universe with suddenly unlimited possibilities.

Locked away in this isolated corner of the world they were free to indulge in their burgeoning attraction, without consequence or judgment from the other small-minded Jedi who feared romance like the proverbial Boogey Man hiding under the bed.

Anakin had always been a rule breaker and Cassandra wasn't going to let the stuffy Jedi Code get in her way.

Cassandra flipped around gliding below the water, her arms and legs burning with exertion.

When they weren't lip-locked Cassandra and Anakin discussed almost everything. From their favorite colors to least favorite foods. Cassandra loved pink. Anakin loved blue. She hated Brussel sprouts and he despised bantha milkshakes.

Considering what they were made of she couldn't blame him. They both loved tea and sweets, adventure and watching sunrises and sunsets.

A shadowy figure appeared by the edge of the pool interrupting her swim. Cassandra surfaced to greet Anakin, wiping water from her eyes. "What's up?"

"I wanted to check on to make sure you were alright." Anakin replied, eyes dancing with humor.

A wave of affection fell over Cassandra. She floated to the side and folded her arms on the lip of the pool. "As you can see, I'm enjoying some much-needed exercise. Care to join me? The water's warm."

Anakin crouched on the edge and leaned down to press a kiss to her wet forehead. "Maybe another time. Enjoy your swim. I'll be in the living room."

Cassandra beamed happily. "Okay."

She finished her laps and then hit the shower to clean up.

As promised Anakin was in the living room, a set of tools resting on the coffee table. He smiled distractedly before returning his attention to the housekeeping droid he was taking apart.
